i thought this might be interesting.
if it's been talked about before, i apologize in advance.
what differences do you think exist between the two?
Welcome to the board Inbetween. I define myself by what I AM, not what I'm not! So neither definition fits for me. For some, their sexual preferences define who they are, even have marches about it, others define themselves by what tribe or ethnic minority they belong to. For me, none of those limited perspectives are adequate. I consider myself a "world citizen" a happy human with past experiances in common with many and future friends I'm looking forward to make.

over the last two weeks since i posted about my wife taking me to the elders, i have been working very hard to save my marriage.
i have made arrangements for babysitting so that we can go out at least once or twice a week.
we have taken in a movie, gone for a walk, gone to the beach, gone to the museum, gone to a jazz concert and just yesterday we went to a coffee house and talked over a nice cup of joe.
Ah I love the "new world" catch-all response. If you don't have an answer or the obvious is too threatening, just duck it and throw it into the "we'll know in the new world" bin! I do hope your wife will begin to think, but it sounds to me, she's too well trained to turn off the "independent" thinking for the safety of recitation of JW speak!

i have been out of the religion for a long time and sometimes things come up and i kind of get reminded of something i had not thought about for awhile.
a couple weeks ago, my mother and father-in-law were over at our home having dinner.
we were commenting about my father-in-laws dad dying last year and my mother-in-law said, "well he will be with us again in the new system.
Why bother with the house to house routine then? Oh, I forgot! Sell the rags! $$ for the publishing company. Forget about doctrinal continuity!

i care about all of you.
i love some of you and have told you that, some i love and haven't told (yet).
for some of us, those here truly are family and friends.
I normally don't respond to the "relationship" threads but I must admit I have grown to enjoy many of you although you may not detect it! Most fun is actually meeting some of you and personally getting to know you as something more than a catchy avatar or a well turned phrase. My wife doen't understand why I log on so often even if I'm not posting. Funny....I don't even know ...
