  i read with sadness the various travails of those who are in and want out but haven't, mostly for the sake of family, the unmitigated temerity to df the borg, and are just waiting for the inevitable kangaroo miscarriage of justice by a jc to pull your plug, and then consoling yourself with thinking that the hounders may have had a sleepless night or two once they'd done their dirty business.

  of course you know that after a night or two they've deleted you from their hard drives, so the consolation is pretty much short-lived.

  but it seems to me that to give, not only the hounders, but the whole circuit lingering and on-going second thoughts, that maybe they're the ones who are in the wrong and how many others there might be, is when they don't get a chance to hang some bum rap you, and you give them the pink slip.

  They quote their own NWT translation of Phil 2:9 and do not put brackets around the word "other" which they do in the NWT. The word other appears nowhere in the greek text and should be bracketed.

  Why is door to door the only preaching the "good news"?

  i am sick and tired of this argument with witnesses.

  every time i try to talk to anyone about anything jw related, this is the response, "but no one else is preaching the good news door to door...".

  the jw version of the good news is nothing but amway or electrolux or kirby!.

  The WTS actually is a bit deceptive in their renderings.

  Please notice the two verses below from the NWT:

  Acts 2:46 And day after day they were in constant attendance at the temple with one accord, and they took their meals in private homes and partook of food with great rejoicing and sincerity of heart, </form>

  and Acts 20:20

  while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house. </form>

  The NWT renders the same Greek as "in private homes" in 2:46 because they don't want members to see that house to house is speaking of churches in one's home. Paul in his writings speaks many times of churches in members homes. If they were to render Acts 2:46 as house to house, the context make sit obvious that these first century Christians were not going to each and every home breaking break. Thus they render it as in private homes so one doesn't see its meaning...while leaving 20:20 as house to house...and claiming it means knocking at doors of each house in a row of houses.

  confirmed. My mom's friend just told her it hasnt yet been announced at her hall but her study conductor told her. He refused to tell her why it was canceled though

Even if the JW wants to assert that Ray is a liar or an apostate, the fact is he wrote this in 1983 or so. How would he have know this "light" unless it was turly discussed.

  there is a 2001 WT QFR that states if an unbelieving spouse reuqts/demands your presence at a celebration/holiday gathering it is up to one's conscience wheter or not to attend- however not to partake in aything pagan. Of course, in practice this is not done. Simply printed to appear reasonable and less cultish to the general public.
