on friday i let you guys know that my final jc was happening on sunday.

thanks so much for all the comments and well wishes.

i was nervous before i went - and though i've given up the faith i haven't given up my belief in god and his direction.. two of the three elders have seen me grow up - i was born in the truth.

how have your family been? that is prob the thing you will need youre strength for, i got dfed a couple of months ago and the shunning by my family has been so hard! my dad is rhe onky one who will have contact and i let him think i am going back, and now i really dont know what to do!

but your story has helped me, im the same age as you but somehow still live to please my family not myself, sad is tisnt it whats your secret?

ok today, i was really bored, i was laying out by the pool calling people up, seeing hows everything going and stuff.

some were busy, others were doing nothing but watching tv.

then i wanted to get a bowling thing going tonight but everyone i invited was busy.

why dont you go to the convention and seduce an innocent jw girl you never know all that spiritual food may fill you up for the whole of summer!

the manchester one will be interesing this year, everynes bound to be dressed up, coz last year the additions for pop idol were there and they fimed ten mins of running on the street trying to get people to sing, unfortunaltly for them they ran right into the dinnertime walk round the convention, it was really funny to see the shocked jw faces as they were asked to sing (none of them did! that would be too sinful!)

anyway did you used to go out with this girl? did you kiss her??

i have been a regular visitor to this forum for the past 2 years or so, finally i got the courage to register.. you guys are an inspiration , your stories and experiences have helped me to take a stand against this controlling org.. in short, i was raised from birth as a jw, parents are from the old school very much hard liners, the society is their god.

is expected of you, get baptised as a teenager become a ms then elder.

i always had my doubts about the society and its teachings but was.

im new here too and have got addicted to this site it has helped me so much, i was dfed over something really minor, and have loads of pressure from my family to come straight back! my family are hardliners too and i know what you mean about doing what is expected of you.

so welcome i hope we can help each other resist the pulls of family and have a good life,

well i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.

i had fully intentioned to disassociate myself from the platform today, but i decided that if i wanted a chance to save my marriage that i'd better tell my wife.

she immediately went to to one of the elders.

the forgotten 607 date! (sorry)

hey everyone sirona pointed out to me today that i had not repilied on the thread i started on the last page about the 607 date.

truth is i forgot!

i think id had a drink when i put it on, coz i almost started another the other day!

but i have almost read through it all and wrote down scriptures to check (that would be fantastic to prove its wrong actually from the bible)

607 date

ive just left the jws well got dfed a month ago!

but family want me back so im trying to prove to myself that it isnt true, top get the strength not to go back,i heard the 607 date may be false, can anyone show me about that, i know exactly what the jws say and cant believe the intial date is wrong, is it?

Need advice from people with a JW partner

hi, i'll sum up: recently disfellowshipped, and am marrying my love, who is not a witness.

i'm jumping through the hoops to get reinstated (to get my family back, and then do the slow fade) but am going to review that choice as time goes by as i choose him as my new life, not them.

however right now i think that life will be better, long term, if i can pick up the phone and talk to my family, every now and then.

im making the effort too but they think i have give him up, and i am far from doing that!

i think you have the right idea if i could, i would marry him then get reinstated, then leave but at least i could throw myself in my familys face and demand them to say hello without feeling like i have destroyed their conscience!

thats my plan anyway at the mo im just decieving my family and feel like crap,coz they think i am well on my way to getting reinstated.

i bet it must be a relief so well done to you, you must be sure of someone tho to go thru all that, thats what scares me (a little!)

glad you asked the questions youd did id like to see the answers!

its wierd when i was married to a jw i used to actually enjoy the feeling of believing the same things and going everywhere together, i often wonder how it would be if i married an 'unbeliever' would i miss that feeling? i dont think so now i dont believe it but i cant be sure, so good thread!

one question tho sass, how are u attending the meetings and trying to get reinstated if you are still with the boy? are you living with him? just asking coz i have hid my boyfriend from everyone so that i look repentant and can go to the meetings and my family have a little hope!

i am wrong tho and you are right coz i will prob hurt them more in the long run or i will give everything up for them and be unhappy myself! so how are you working it?
