Little Matthew at the Kingdom Hall

when my oldest child was about three we were in a kingdom hall with quite a few kids.

my son was frequently brought to the back room, not for a spanking, but to stretch his legs and take a break.

later diagnosed with adhd, he could not sit quietly if his life depended on it.

i have a daughter, and when she was one i remember visiting my mums hall and sitting with her and she was disgusted at the fact that we brought one unspiritual book for her, appently not only should i have tried to keep a not understanding one year old quiet, i was also supposed to do it using only authentic b&tsociety literiture.

abit after that she ordered a book from a wittness with all 'baby spiritual friendly' stories in it only to have her cut her lip open the first time she lookedx

2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

location is our home in weston super mare.

as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.

2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

location is our home in weston super mare.

as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.

im defo able to come with sirona now hope thats ok!

tho one of us will prob be driving so if its sirona we will be there on time if its me prob be late, looking forward to it tho slightly scared! (only used to spiritual gatherings!!)

DA used to be used for unbaptized DFing

does anyone remember this, or was it just a local thing?

all the time i've spent on these boards, i've never heard anyone mention it.

just curious.. when an unbaptized publisher was in a situation "warranting" dfing, they would announce from the platform that the person had been dad.

Yes they did that in england too, i only just realised that daing was something you could do yourself!

my friend got daed in 1994 for having a pellet gun in his car, ok he tookit out and scared everyone at the circuit assembly. but he was repentent but coz hewasnt baptized his punnishment was daing, they said he would of been dfed if he was baptized,

so in england they defo did it that way

Exploitation of brothers & sisters

in the past i visited bethel and got to 'tour' around.

here men & women worked their asses off every single day - a full 8 & 1/2 hours a day.

they had to make sure they were up at the crack of dawn to attend the reading of the day text.

it is prison that makes me mad, my family were in it for years before it made them ill!

and my 17 year old cousin just married a much older man and is going straigfht into bethel (the guy was there already) apparently they dont usually take people that young but she was taught from home and pioneered since 12 so i guess there making an exception.

makes me mad tho imagine spending your first part of married life ironing 500 mens shirts (its bad enough with just one to keep up to!)

Going to a District Convention Undercover, suggestions?

i'm still undesided but leaning towards going to a few dcs under the cover of a worldly person(i'm really a df'd evil apostate .

i'm a worldy person that is in love with a jw sister who i work with, we have dated and even have been intimate(that outa perk up the ears of any hatchet man elder), and now she refuses to see me any more unless i become a jw, she encouraged me to go to this convention, but is afraid to be seen with me because she doesn't want people in her congregation to know she has a boy friend.

i think that kind of story would grab the interest of many sisters or brother and allow me to ask some hard questions about the organization and even allow me to bring up some things i found on the internet about dates and such and not be viewed as an apostate.

the manchester one at men arena is 1st to the 3rd of july,

i will be there i was dreading going but now im excited after reading all these great ideas, i defo want to do something, i know loads that go and only got dfed a couple of months ago so could maybe talk to people without them knowing im dfed, but not sure how i could get that to work for our benefit. going undercover somewhere is prob a much better idea.

there is a barbeque in the uk i think its the week after the convention, is anyone going to that?

i remember going to the assemblies and conventions and feeling encouraged by the information that was presented.

in hindsight, i may have just felt that way because that's how you were supposed to feel.

i was a 100% brainwashed fool for many years, if the gb said it, i did, i felt it and i believed it .

that is so true i absoutely loved them as a kid but know it was just to get dressed up and meet new fellas!

when i was married they got so hard, just turned into a catch up on who had had a baby (or 10) or who had run off with the milkman etc...

i know what you mean mutz, i loved the pre and post cleaning work, and its sad thats stopped in the uk, i dont know why but now you have to be invited or something to do it, theyve shot themselves in the foot there coz that would have proberly kept a few young ones going!

i left school in 92 and that was still being said but 1975 had long gone, just shows the control they have,

i reg pioneered and cleaned toliets till working in the 'non profit' (yeah right) jah jireh homes, (nursing homes for only witnesses, where you are actually told to miss the conventions etc to serve your brothers!!

i really wish id known it was false back then, i was so proud everytime i cleaned up someones shit, thought i was pleasing God !!

my dc is in two weeks and my mum wants me to go all three days (seeing as they think i amtrying to get reinstated!) and sit with her, but hey i can read the bible at the dinner break so thats ok !!

i think i will go im a sucker for pleasing my family, altho i know im prob being crueler in the long run coz i know i defo dont want the 'truth' (bit confused at the mo)

ANYWAY frankie you have got me thinking, some may not know im dfed think ill wander round at dinner time and hopefully catch some out, (suddenly going isnt such a bad idea )
