JW versus Christian Sciencetolgy Similarities
by pratt1 in.
i just read some of tom cruises' comments on his belief cs and i found them disturbing.. not just his point of view, but it appears that his beliefs are black or white... no gray areas, every thought was so definite, almost final.. sounded a lot like the jw beliefs in that they are the only people who has it right and everyone else is wrong.. does anyone know any thing about christian scientolgy and are they similar in their beliefs to the dubs?

Is the Watchtower hurting financially?
by truthseeker inwhile surfing e-watchman's paradise forum, i clicked on one of the topics i never go to, "our meetings & assemblies" and found an interesting post on the wt bleeding financially.. it was posted 3 months ago.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/viewtopic.php?t=2888&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0.
in my neck of the woods (which shall remain anonymous) the do and co have been circulating the rumour that the watchtower society is in financial straights and is being bled dry.
this must be very pressing.

I remember when they changed to the donation arrangement, Annie. It never ocurred to me to look for ulterior motives or secular reasons for it. I just was so grateful that I didn't have to outright ask for money any more. I was so happy to be able to report to my non-JW Mom (who had once offered to pay for the literature I placed herself so that I wouldn't be out there asking for money like some crummy magazine salesperson) that the brothers at Bethel, had seen new light. WhooHoo! Praise Jah! What a moron I was.
I think there is a self-centered reasoning that goes on. Somehow, for all the years the society has been going d2d selling mags and books, Jah was too dang busy with more important things to worry about how mercenary it looked for his people to be peddling the truth. It was only in our, less primative era in the organizational timeline, that things like this were finally being addressed. Oh, the joy! The light is getting so bright our little eyes were nearly blinded by the brilliance.
Sometimes I look back at the dub I was, smile sadly....and want to give her a big kick in the ass.

no stones please!
by almosthome ini am hoping a little balance is allowed here, or at least the coin's flip side.
this is my story so far, but i am fairly sure it is going to end up a bit differently than most i have read on your site.
the brothers couldn't help my husband, he didn't want help.

AND NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY!
by Outaservice inin the 16th, and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common.. it was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is menthane gas.. as the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen.
menthane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below with a lantern, 'ka.........boooom!'.
several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.. after that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term 'ship high in transit' on them which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the 'hold' would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.. thus evolved the term "s.h.i.t.

Jehovah saved Michael Jackson!?
by Gill inso, there i was quietly dropping off to sleep while listening to the news at 10 on the bbc last night.
suddenly, michael jackson had been found not guilty of everything, and fair enough, i'm no judge or jury so it's not up to me to say yay or nay.. then my eldest son rushes into the bedroom on the phone to his jw full time pioneer girl friend.. her father had just told her that michael jackson had given credit to jehovah, that if he should be found not guilty of these charges his great god jehovah is the one that saved him and the girls elder father was saying what a wonderful witness this is, letting everyone in the world hear jehovah's name.. the best i could mumble at the time was 'go away you bunch of freaks!'.
however, the ludicrousness of this has finally dawned on me this morning!.

They'll give you the water free, but you gotta pay for the cup, the bottle, the cooler, the truck it came in on and the bottling plant. LOL
