I would agree with Cyrus. Their reply to that question is sometimes something like this, 'If I tell you will you believe it? why should I bother then?' or they will say 'you must agree that .... Why must I agree to believe before they even have a word out of their mouth?! They can't explain so they get very defensive. If there was one sentence that would stick or have any real impact that would be the magic bullet we all are looking for. Which doesn't exist.

Kind of reminds of the Awake (?) that taught people the correct way to brush their teeth!!! I wish they would address keeping the toilet seat down! I don't know what the heck is going on in this house of all females but him, recently he started leaving it up! This is new, after knowing someone close to 25 yrs! Kids want to know what's the deal all of a sudden. Haven't seen any jw male head of house keep the toilet seat up crap, couldn't be that?!

it''s a pro jw type of show where the jw's are depicted as a positive influence in society.
and i say "positive' in the sense that it touches on the most base of emotions.

Divided Household
by pratt1 ini grew up in a "divided household" and i was wondering how many of you had similar experiences to mine.. 1. i was always viewed as fatherless child as a kid.
i wasn't, i had a very involved father, however he was an unbeliever.. 2. i always felt the my decisions in life ultimately meant that i was chosing one parent over the other.
going to college i chose dad over mom.

I don't get it. Husband has said that jw's don't beleive everyone else but them will be destroyed. Yet every exjw board says the opposite. Is he just trying to block this from his mind or what? Does he think if he is a good enough jw his wife & kids might stand a chance? How can I make him see that it is what jw's believe? Try to bring any of this up and his jw mode turns on and starts going on about how Christians partake in war, etc.. youv'e heard it all before. sigh.

Karma, Irony, Speeding Ticket
by RichieRich inyesterday morning i was enjoying coffee with a few teachers when we started talking about the north carolina laws that say that if you get a ticket while you're under 18, your license might be revoked.
i was joking with them that in my business sedan (ford taurus), i can speed and no one seems to care.
i spoke way too soon.. yesterday evening, i was leaving for work at about 5:20. i saw that i was coming up on a cop, so i did that thing where you hit the brakes, but try not to make it obvious that you just slowed down.

Did you have the spedometer checked yet to see if it is accurate? Might reduce your ticket if it is off. If it's not off by much, well, good luck.

Aside from all the rest of the nonsense- Painting Farm Mailboxes? what?! Now that must be a job in high demand. Most farmers are much to lazy after whitewashing the fences to get to that mailbox I'm sure.
