Thanks to everybody for clearing it up for me. Some things I had forgotten.
Amazing what you can put out of your mind when you try!
during the first talk tonight, the brother giving the talk indicated that now comments were to include sisters!
previously mostly only brothers were mentioned in most prayers or comments - has anyone else heard this tonight?.
the meeting seemed to be positioned directly to and about sisters.

I always thought it was just plain dumb to say women don't teach in dubland. If the women are commenting they are in essence 'teaching'. What about at the doors or their so called 'bible studies'? They are already teaching.
How about all those female pioneers running around the country side, they are attempting to teach the masses as well.
I guess the only place they don't actually teach is at the carts where they do all they can not to make eye contact or speak with anybody.
the 10-20 wt study "how to save relatives".
according to wt writers, it is the unique beliefs, doctrines are what saves people at armageddon.
but not a peep about them, instead it is love bombing.
Bluesbrother said, "Your relatives may be saved IF they listen to you. But what if they don't?
Dubs must accept that the god they love will deliberately target these people, who they also love, with death and destruction. How can they live with that idea?
How did we once live with that idea? I don't know....?."
I tell my jw's family of this belief and still they don't believe me! Not one of them have taken 5 minutes to research what the jw's actually believe.
I'm not sure my own jw even truly believes this. I think he thinks that if he just good enough perhaps jah will look kindly on him and allow his evil family to make it into the new system and then we will all say, "yes! you were so right! of course we love jah and want to live in this eternal hell, err, umm, paradise with jw's"
Not sure where that would put me seeing as his cong & elders know full well that I actively work against the borg when given the chance and even distributed anti jw literature. Guess I'm toast. Scratch that, I think the correct term was 'birdseed'.
So if I get annihilated, zapped out existence, and his children somehow make it (which they wouldn't by jw standards), he will be 'blessed' with forgetfulness about me, won't he wonder for all eternity what his wife and mother of his children were like? Wouldn't you wonder about your own ability to judge people if your choice of mate and mother to your children was so awful she had to be forgotten for ever? That is their idea of paradise?
no thanks.

I'm not a jw, never been to a meeting- don't the women usually raise their hand to comment? or was it always only men? Or are you specifically talking about praying for someone, men only? Then again I didn't think jw's prayed for any specific members of the cong. Can you clear this up for me? thanks.
from the official agm report: are you completely sober?.
brother geoffrey jackson made practical application of texts in the christian greek scriptures that use a term that literally means “sober.” he also stressed the importance of continuing to ‘keep our senses completely’ (literally “being sober perfectly”) during these last days.—1 peter 1:13.. .
.
Oh, please don't tell me they are on a anti drinking campaign again! Wine unites all of us! ha, just kidding.
Crap, that means my jw will take it seriously and be anti drinking for awhile. What's next on the agenda? How about the Daniel statue and toes thingy? that would be good, harmless, for every day life anyway.
i'm doing some work on the messaging service, so sending messages may fail - i'll update this topic when work is completed..
Hey Simon,
If it matters, after I posted about the mailbox I then sent a message and got a reply from someone but then it disappeared after I read it. This was a few days ago. Just letting you know.
Thanks for all your work!
carla
so my mum sent me this link, i need to speak to her about how she feels about this.
maybe she didn't even read it.
but the website looks to pro jw.
For most people (non jw) they see 'jehovah witness' much as you would say, Lutheran, Catholic, etc... simply defining which 'church' you belong to. I still find it a bit humorous when someone says, "a big jehovah knocked on my door", (big meaning very zealous) or " a bunch of jehovah's were in the neighborhood", "the jehovah's came by and I didn't answer my door!" and so on. They have no idea that they are probably really offending the jw's when they say things like that.
Don't even get me started about having to explain that jw's don't go to 'church' they don't have 'churches' they have kh's!
the april 2019 study edition page 20 has an article on resisting wicked spirits.
it says "magic refers to practices associated with the occult, or the supernatural.
it can include curses and the casting or breaking of spells.
It seems it all depends on the current litter-ature. My jw recently enjoyed a certain show about magicians but then very abruptly gave it up. No reason, just would not watch it. I knew.
i think the wtb&ts publication titled "the kingdom interlinear of the christian greek scriptures" speaks for itself.. the word for word translation of the greek into english.. that publication does not even contain the name or word jehovah either in hebrew letters or greek letters anywhere in the word for word texts.. their is not one scripture in the n.t.
where christians ,followers of jesus christ are instructed to be witnesses of jehovah ,however there are something like twenty scriptures that explicitly state followers of jesus christ are to be witnesses of, for, and about jesus...
Yes! jwfacts.com is an excellent resource! as is Atlantis as always. Imagine that? an ex jw has to download secret documents to a so called 'Christian' cult?! how bizarre. At least that's what my Christian and non Christian friends think of the whole thing.

johnamos, I see you as a jw mindset, perhaps if you are willing to really examine your own beliefs as jw's ask the doors to do, you will see things differently.
Examine, then examine again and then keep searching and keep an open mind. If you are on Simons's board you are already in peril as a diehard jw and would be subject to df-ing just for being here. Sad isn't it? that your entire world could change in an instant just for looking at a website?
