In my country the preaching work is over

the jws in my country can't preach to anyone these days and they're going crazy.

i live in romania and initially during the covid-19 lockdown they were very enthusiastic about preaching.

they've since held daily "field service meetings" on zoom.

Ask them to get a hold of an old KIT and compare. They won't and will find the request highly suspicious. I speak from experience. Took the elder months to get my newbie jw a copy then he wouldn't read the darn thing and had to return it. Why wouldn't he read it? because, like an idiot, I told him some ex jw's had read it and left the org because if it.

meditation now OK

i see ken flodine spelling saying in the new zoom assembly that you should meditate.

when i was in the cult that was a huge no no.

it was called blanking your mind and the demons could take control.

Awesome! now if I should ever get caught meditating my jw can't say jack! If their definition is fluid as so many jw words are they are like trying to pin down a jello shot. It is so easy, I almost feel bad when I try to make my jw define a word.

JW's and the National Anthem/Flag

one thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.

we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.

I'm a ubm, I can't tell you how embarrassing and humiliating it is to be with a jw when they sit during the anthem. Years ago when our kids were in school I would try to distance myself from him but on bleachers it is hard to do! Worse was when the Veterans would be nearby with their Korean or Vietnam gear on, they would do a double take like, "what's this guys problem?". Naturally this was all years before kneeling became a thing.

Odd isn't it that Tim Tebow got in trouble for kneeling and praying and now it is popular to kneel to make a political statement?

if they can, do they have to turn off their video and sound?

can they attend with their family?

Seriously? the elders get to decide who is sitting in your own home now and jw's can't see this is batshitcrazy?

Try explaining this whole thing to a non jw and they don't believe you! "yes, jw's used to knock on doors trying to make converts (pre virus days) and may be calling or writing letters to still get you to join but if you aren't deemed worthy you may be asked to leave the area of the computer so you can't see their 'life saving message'". Makes perfect sense

Did you ever know a JW who was political?

one black sister would always slam the jews when there was anything on the radio or tv about the palestinian's.

i knew others who had other ideas that were strange and not neutral as we were told to be.

the black sister would dress like she was from africa in a dashiki robe from time to time.

My jw claims not to be political but can't help running commentary on political issues when the news is on. Can't help 'sharing' his opinion on damn near everything. I once told him he was the most political person I knew, yeah, that didn't go over well as you can imagine.

The first thing that is amusing is that he, as a jw, is concerned that she somehow got his number and was a bit disturbed that she wouldn't tell him her last name! Hello kettle...... on to listen to the rest if I am able.

Not one of them are willing to have an actual conversation. As soon as they can't answer they 'have to go'. But we all knew it would go that way.
