  I hope this makes national news. This is the only way for things to change in the org. Maybe men and their wives will think twice before even 'reaching' out for the great privilege of being elder to begin with. They should be held accountable for the subsequent rapes of a child when they let rapists/molesters go free in the cong and at the public at large. They are just as guilty as the pedo himself (or herself). They should be sued in civil court as well not just the organization.

  As for it being 'persecution', I have asked my jw whenever he uses that one if it is persecution when authorities go after regular non jw people for the same crime? You can almost always find a non jw example of whatever their cry of 'persecution' is and it usually shuts them up pretty fast.

  A six year old child and then it continued? !! makes me sick.

  They face only one year in jail? meaning what? they serve maybe three months if that?

  what “the abomination that causes desolation” mentioned in mathew 24:15 means could be understood only by close followers of jesus because it was part of his personal discussion with them.

  by stopping to greet those whom they consider as “their enemies” jws are identifying themselves as “pagans,” according to jesus.

  (mathew 5:43-48) thus they cannot correctly understand what the abomination that causes desolation” that would appear as part of signs of “last days.”.

  Coming from mainstream Christianity, I can tell you (jw's) that nobody worships the cross. It represents the work of Christ upon the cross when He laid down His life for all.

  Secondly, wearing a cross around jw's is like wearing garlic around vampires, it works.

  because he is shown that way in older representations of him that are older then the traditional effeminate looking pictures.".

  watchtower 1968 p.286 "bible evidence and a recent review shows that jesus did have a beard..." charles russell style of beard was popular at bethel...till rutherford took over.

  I would agree with FFGhost, in the US at least in my area beards are still a no-no and my jw has disparaging remarks about beards at times.

  Ukrainian refugees and the Jehovah's Witnesses

  i personally would like to foster a couple of those parent-less kids from ukraine, but i know that my 'full in' witnesses wife would never agree.

  for her, they are 'worldly children'; children who are most likely will never become a witness, and so why even consider opening one's heart to them and their suffering.. while her attitude really upsets me, ultimately she is just a product of the organization's teachings and for me, it is just another example of the hypocrisy and coldness of the religion.

  you see, this religion is meant to be a christian faith, one that should copy the qualities the jesus himself taught others to display.

  shadowclone, I mean no disrespect but am wondering if you were expected to bring those foster children to the kh while they were in your home? were they expected to read wt's & awake's? if a judge (or other) required you to bring them to a church each Sunday would you have and what would your congregation & elders have to say then?

  Funny, I remember you quite often, you once made a comment about your wife making you help with laundry or something and you decided to just hang everything on hangars instead of using laundry pins/clips and I thought, 'good grief! why aren't I doing that? I needed a man from down under to point out the obvious?!" ha, so I often chuckle about that as I am still doing that and think of you and hoped you were doing well.

  Awakes says playing Chess is evil not for Witnesses!

  awake 73 3/23 p.12 "the spirit of compatition between players can lead to unpleasant circumstances...in some homes tensions linger longer then checkmate.

  chess is a game of war a play substitute for the art of war...danger of stirring up compatiton and hostility to one another something the bible warns christians to avoid.

  what effect does playing chess have on you is it wholesome?

  My jw quit playing chess with the kids when he joined in the early 90's because it was a 'war game'. The ban on chess still had legs at that time. No one has asked him to play since.
