  Ozzie, I agree! I can't tell you how surprised and sometimes horrified people are to hear how the jw reject Jesus memorial goes down. "you mean they pass the bread & wine around and they all reject it?!!" "yes, or most of them, those who partake are usually considered mentally unbalanced by thinking they are 'special' and part of the anointed". At times people think I am making it up and I have to tell them to look for themselves or ask a jw.

  jw are trained to lie- The 2016 No 1 WT defines lying as follows:

  WHAT IS IT? Saying something false to someone who is entitled to know the truth. Lying can include misrepresenting or distorting facts in order to mislead a person, omitting key information to deceive someone, and exaggerating the truth in order to give a false impression.

  Ask a jw who is 'entitled' to the truth and they will likely say everyone. Then show them the quote out of their own literature and they wiggle and worm their way around it and finally change the subject. That has been my experience.

  "...you have to be careful of what you say because you can drive them in harder."- well yeah, that's true.

  episode 203 of netflix ... i am a killer looks at the murder of christopher chavez in texas.

  christopher chavez was a 22 year old ministerial servant and a born-in son of an jw elder.

  after a thursday night meeting and a quick bite to eat afterwards with friends at a local restaurant, he was kidnapped, taken to a gas station and forced to drive his killers around for hours while they were in the back seat.

  My jw made it very clear that I would be on my own if someone was killing me or the kids. I find that pretty darn hard to live with sometimes. Imagine, a stranger would come to our defense when our own husband and father wouldn't, hard to believe isn't it? I tell people that sometimes and they don't believe it would actually play out that way. When I mention that one is allowed to protect oneself and family he agrees in theory at times other times I guess it is whatever the wt is selling at the moment. Depends which way the light happens to be blinking.

  I didn't say anything about the polio vax. If you actually went to the link and read it you would have seen that I cut and pasted from ABC News story- "LONDON -- Four African countries have reported new cases of polio linked to the oral vaccine, as global health numbers show there are now more children being paralyzed by viruses originating in vaccines than in the wild."

  It always amazes me when people comment but don't actually read what they are commenting on. Not everything is so very black and white even with vaccines. The fact that so few seem to understand wild polio from vaccine induced polio is disturbing to say the least. Give the kids the right vaccine to begin with and this wouldn't have happened. This caused many not to trust the powers that be, WHO, governmental health, etc....

  Why do so many not trust WHO, US Gov, etc... when it comes to covid vax? if the past 2 years doesn't tell you than how about this article? gain of function or no? They aren't even trying to pretend it's not anymore- https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.10.13.512134v1.full

  Illinois Elders as mandatory reporters must undergo training

  illinois now requires all elders as mandatory reporters to undergo state approved training every three years to ensure they fully understand their roles as mandated reporters.

  this will include a pre training assessment, 60 - 90 mins of self paced, interactive training with a final assessment to ensure reporters understand their responsibilities.

  following the course, mandated reporters must make a declaration that they understand their status as a reporter and will fully comply with mandatory requirements.

  I don't understand why they focus on IL and not all states. I have a therapist friend who says all states have a mandatory reporting obligation.

  More money and meeting with 3 elders

  so, we had this meeting with 3 elders ( larry, moe and curly) my uncle who is the lawyer sat in the room and stayed quiet, and fact for 40 minutes we let them talk.

  we would just sit there.

  they went into along winded monolog about how the world is in bad shape and getting worst.

  I once showed my jw that Jesus was not his mediator and he still wouldn't believe it. Not sure he quite understands it today.
