IP-Sec,
You know I was never a jw right? But, will be happy to send whatever to the elders and NY. carla
let me start by saying that i have the deepest respect for all of you who have left the organization.
some of us choose to leave in spirit only but remain physically for any number of reasons.
i have respect for you because youve been able to push through what i know is a terribly dense cloud to get to the point where you see the org for what it really is.. others choose to fade, which in many ways is harder than leaving out right.

to start my day with: as i was walking down the street towards hell the assembly, i went to cross halfway across the road when a cheese and cracker brother told me that i should "cross at the light so that others can see that jehovah's people are law abiding citizens.
stick my lapel badge up his ass sideways make a good impression so i waited until he was distracted by other jaywalkers and then dashed across the road complied with his suggestion.
once in the building i managed to find a seat next to a guy who looked remarkably like fat bastard was a bit on the plump side.
I loved it! Now I get the real feel for a convention. What do they mean by not having churches, synogogues or places like that?! You should see the kh husband goes to! It is really quite beautiful on the inside, (I didn't see the 'church' part) and they have a concrete driveway & parking lot! In our neck of the woods a concrete drive is quite expensive.
The use of the word obedience is really kind of scary. And none of them probably even noticed.
Thanks for going Mary.

bearing in mind i do not attend meetings, and theyve stopped calling to get the "report" i will not be able to give them the good news.
what a shame.
is there somewhere else i can report?.
I have thought of donating to the library as well. But, I think one of the librarians is a jw. I once had to use the computer there and printed out about 50 pages of ex jw stuff, she was not happy with me at all! I finally had to have her call the boss (who I know somewhat) and offer him a lump sum cause she was giving me a hard time. Counting each page extremely slowly, losing her place, etc..
As for my 'count', I am now up to 200 paperboxes hit with 'my literature'! The 'cease & desist' letter (how to get on the jehovahs witness do not call list) and the trifold available from Silentlambs.

I love your idea! Almost makes me wish I was jw just so I could DA myself! I tell ya what, I will still send a letter of a da-ing type just to show my support. Let us know when. Maybe spouses of jw's could make some kind of statement too. carla

amelia couple will share its story during this weekend's jehovah's witnesses' meeting
by alberta lindsey times-dispatch staff writer saturday, july 2, 2005 .
A question- why do so many of these articles refer to the kh/wt as a 'church'? I thought the wt was quite opposed to being called a church. carla
had a very interesting local needs part last nite - warning against apostate activity in our area, as well as the dangers of the internet.
the elder giving the talk discussed how he googled "watchtower" and a whole boatload of sites came up, such as silent lambs, etc.
"we need to stay away from these.
Do they do the 'local needs- apostate warning' at every meeting everywhere? I wonder if people will be glaring at my husband, I wonder if they know I have hit 154 houses now with my own 'literature'. I'm sure they will figure out is me. I have been lazy lately, I have 50 more ready to go. Better get up early, carla
the following was posted at my guest list the other day, by a producer of a new documentary that is pro-witness and may go out on pbs.
i'm joel engardio, director of the project.
joel .
I agree with Gary. We need a new video. I just watched the one offered on Freeminds. It is very good and informative, however it is a bit dated and the words don't match up the faces. A new one could also include the pedphile problems, blood changes, UN scandal, etc.. etc.. A federal grant to make this should not be too difficult to obtain. If the jw's can work the system, someone here with those skills should be able to. Anyone with film experience? Who made the original 'Witness of Jehovah'? Maybe they could do a new updated version. Any other ideas? carla
my wife has been off work through illness for over a year, so before she goes back, we're gonna have a short family holiday.
we got a cheap last minute holiday...to egypt, so we're quite excited.
i'm gonna take my tape-measure and double check the length of the main passageway in the great pyramid at giza.
Have fun! Let us know about those measurements. carla
one for the historians here...
was round visiting my jw mother and bro (who stays with my folks when he's in the area working) the other night.
the conversation swung round to a documentary they'd been watching on video earlier that evening, supposedly putting forward all sorts of archaeological evidence for the exodus, including coral-encrusted remains of chariots at the bottom of the red sea, no less.
I think the Discover channel did a show about that subject. I remember that they said it wasn't the Red Sea but probably the Reed Sea, which is more marshy than an actual sea. They also had some other interesting theories that I had never heard before. Maybe the library has a copy or look on Discover web site. carla
i have been df'd for over 3 years (for the third time... you know it's the charm).
i have an 8 year old who is being taught by my parents the same things that i was taught, including how we can't celebrate birthdays.
i have been doing a little research on the origin of worldly customs, such as weddings and birthdays only to find that there are many wedding customs that witnesses have adopted that have pegan origins.
Didn't the WT have a big birthday bash awhile back? oops, I mean anniversary. carla
