I agree with Smiddy that you shamed them into allowing her back home. Too bad it will be a rough time for her and their pressure to become more 'spiritual'. Let her know your door is always open and maybe one day she will show up on your doorstep! I hope the parents can do the right thing and love her unconditionally but don't hold out much hope where jw's are concerned. Wishing all involved the best.

I wanted to give an update on my niece
by Tameria2001 inabout a month ago i had mentioned my niece who's jw parents kicked her out.
i let her know that she is welcome to my home if she wanted to come.
well, i found out through another relative that her jw parents (my sister) learned that i was more than happy to take in their daughter.

I want to try something new, any ideas?
by Tameria2001 innormally when jws come to my door, i very quickly tell them i'm not interested in the jws.
and for about a year or so they don't come until that time passes.
well, they came by today, but this time i decided to not tell them to go away but had a nice conversation with the two that were at my door.

I'm with JeffT, most jw's don't know squat about their own doctrines. Even when they find they are wrong they shake their head a bit and go on as if nothing has happened. They will slowly revert to whatever they think the doctrine should be until they get in trouble with an elder for speaking it out loud.

Why the Oxygen Special will not work like we think it will...
by HiddenPimo inwithin the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.
the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.
i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

It may not have any effect on current jw's but it sure will keep anybody from considering the jw's as a religion they want to check out for their own spiritual quest!

There is a possibility of more people (JWS) dying from suicide than from refusing a blood transfusion !
by Finkelstein ini just recently heard of another person (jws) taking their life by suicide, a woman in her 30's.. sheesh, reflecting back upon all the other past jws that unfortunately did this, it creates an unnerving acknowledgement, jws are more likely to die from suicide than from refusing a blood transfusion.
i remember going back to the 1970's there were occurrences of people who i knew who were associated with the jws in one way or another committing suicide.. at the time i thought well people will do that just like the rest of the general population, not taking notice about the association with the jws.
but now i do see a connection in knowing of how people are mentally entrapped by this religoius cult in their psychological mind set and sociological behavior.

I'm only at the 20 min mark and can hardly watch it. Might have to watch it in sections. I can't even imagine how some of you must feel watching it who have experienced such things. My heart just breaks thinking about it.

How to jw's handle Luke 6:32?
by carla inall or nothing said this in a previous thread, "we were told the "identifying mark of true christians is this love among the brothers".
it was said in the thread about not being invited to things.. i have seen it many times in re: to jw's.
how do jw's handle luke 6:32 then?

sigh, I figured.
To most Christians that is one of the hard parts of Christianity, loving those who are difficult to love. Love them anyway. But then jw's define love far differently than most.

How do jw's handle Luke 6:32 then? This is from the NIV - (maybe they took it out of the NWT?) This scripture alone should make a jw think, in my opinion. From shunning, cliques, judging others spirituality, etc.. etc... and generally finding excuses to treat their own (and non jw) people like crap. So what would the current light be on the scripture below?-
โIf you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."

Congregations That May Dissolve Soon!!
by Atlantis infrom a member of the board asking for this to be posted.. hi.
i'm pimo.
could you please let people know about this?

If congregations are being forced to merge with other cong's then what about trying to keep congs to less then say 140-120 people or so? I know that they allow different congs in each kh at different times but some must have to overlap (lol). Would some jw's see this as the 'religion' becoming like the mega churches? Yes, I realize that a cong of 200 would not be considered 'mega' by normal standards but we are talking about jw's here.

Good Scripture to Show Watchtower = Pharisees
by truth_b_known ini read something today that immediate brought the watchtower/jws to mind.
something to share with jws the next time they come knocking at your door.
i'll even quote it from the nwt - luke 18:9-14.

" โO God, I thank you that I am not like everyone else..."- I have used that on my jw often. It only gives pause for a few moments then quickly fades away into self/jw justification . Then again, mine wasn't a born in so perhaps he still has some sense of shame when sitting on the jw judgement seat. The brainwashing kicks in quickly so any moment of normal reasoning is just as quickly forgotten or brushed aside as evil thinking?
