i'm relatively new here, and i would like to see threads that have new posts or replies in them bumped up to the top of the forum.
because recently, someone asked me a question in a thread, but i answered their question with a question.
and after being away from the forum for about a week, i haven't looked at that thread for their answer because i forgot what thread it was in.
Why don't you simply click on 'latest' or click on your name and then click on 'see topics posted on'? take some time to look around the site and see how it works.
For instance; I clicked on your name and see you joined 23 days ago, started 8 topics (threads) and posted (responded) 79 times as of early Sunday morning of the 10th.
what is with the jw cadence when they speak.
do they think they are teaching people ?

When we have birthdays in our house (all non jw except husband) my jw runs for the hills when we start singing but then gets really sad after all the company is gone if we ate all the birthday cake or even worse! I gave the rest to the birthday girl/boy. He always asks for big piece and if whipped cream is involve a big pile of that too. He's a real rebel I guess.

We are a family of non jw's, only husband joined up later in life, we don't even know any jw's. Well, I guess now we do, one.
I can't tell you the damage the jw's have done in our little family. The things my kids did specifically because they knew it would be against jw-ism. The hurt at holidays and birthdays because jw dad all of a sudden refused to acknowledge anything, etc.... most of you as former jw's cannot understand the hurt with birthdays for example due to the brainwashing about birthdays. If you were a kid and mom or dad always made a big deal about how happy they were that you were born and very suddenly quit even acknowledging your birth day or anniversary of your birth it is quite hurtful.
Luckily (oh, yet another thing jw's are not allowed to say) my kids have found their own spiritual journey and know full well the cult that is jw's. They lived it. I am so happy they are happy and successful ( does not always mean $$ but are happy and well adjusted). My kids are awesome but I never let them step foot in a kh. Well, they could have but then we would have had to visit ALL the other religions in the world, something a jw is very afraid of. Use it, protect your kids.

You may not get a response due to the fact you are new and many people who have left or wish to leave the jw's have need to protect their identity in order to keep relationships with family, friends or employment.
For any that still don't think jw's are cult, the proof is in the pudding.
Outsiders can't even imagine that you can't answer who is or is not in a certain congregation because you have to protect yourself from the very congregation and elders in a so called "Christian" congregation. insanity.

Would a diehard jw find this disturbing or would they say, "see, we have no problem reading other materials, we are allowed to". I know my jw will not read any non jw approved literature regarding anything biblical.

Why do they ask race? my jw likes to think they are all the same and it doesn't matter what race you are in dubland.
Oh my goodness! the box at the bottom where they actually grade people!
Alertness, appearance, poise, Attitude toward accepting hard work, Balance in judgment, Emotional stability, adjusting to people, and lastly the best one yet- Spirituality.
So when a jw says they don't judge each others 'spirituality' we have it in black and white they do.
Can you imagine grading adults with A, B, C, D for these things?! E (does not qualify) might as well as be an F for failure.

Years ago when my jw first joined up with the cult he tried the 'head of the house' routine on me too. I simply stated that anything about a man being head of the house and being able to correct his wife was originally meant for Christians and seeing as I don't consider jw's 'Christian' it doesn't apply to him and never will.
