Don't they consider Jesus their King? now the gb are on equal footing? is that about right?

A fun moment
by Vidiot inmy wife of many years is more-or-less pomo, but she still (nominally) believes in jehovah and the bible.. she raised her eyebrows when she realized the full scope of the csa problem… rolled her eyes when letto the clown called babies “little enemies of god”… but today, we apparently crossed a real threshold….
…her response to the governing body being referred to as “our future kings” was….
…“what????!!!!!”.

It has been my experience that jw' s have no concept of salvation in the traditional Christen viewpoint.
It has also been my experience that a jw will not discuss or entertain the mere concept of 'salvation'.. And in no way willl they accept any 'salvation' through or because of Jesus Christ.. In fact, my jw will prefer to run away than to have this conversation, go hide in bathroom, need to answer phone, need to answer neighbor he neglected for months on end , etc......I think he would prefer a tornado than do have an actual discussion.
And, for goodness sakes, never, ever, find youtubes or museum, college, academic, etc... that might negate their beliefs.

Pastafarianism Vs JWs
by Mikejw inthere is a new religion called pastafarianism.. official doctrine is all about a flying spaghetti monster.
.
obviously nobody actually believes any of it in their heart but they stay physically in the religious group.. i wonder if jws will become like this and people choosing to stay in when they don’t believe it..

Children dumped at ministry group
by Mikejw init’s not right for children to be forced to come to ministry groups on their own without their parents.
the parents just expect others to look after them.. we have this happening at our group all the time.
early teens and even younger.. the parents just want them out of the house for a bit and put the burden on others to look after them and get them home safely.. there should be an announcement or something that youths need to be accompanied by a responsible adult and not just dumped at the group on their own.. who is supposed to look after them?.

Do these people who accept stranger children (or known) in their car have the following information?
Parents names, phone #'s, address, where they will be during time in vehicle, who to call in case of emergency/accident, who to call if parents can't be reached, known allergies, mental health at current moment (will kid flip out at something?), behavior issues, bathroom? needs help? what if? allergies, etc....
Does your current car insurance cover you using your car basically as a bus/taxi? do you realize if you had a catastrophic accident that you WILL be sued regardless of the jw- "we don't sue our brothers". It is the insurance companies that sue to recover medical bills, etc.... If you haven't notified insurance company of use of vehicle will you be personally liable?
If the parents aren't around when it is time to drop them off, what are you supposed to do with child? was this agreed upon by all adults?
why do jw not see beyond their own nose? this is common sense stuff and things normal people do in girl/boy scouts, afterschool activities and so forth.

Why are these adults setting themselves up for possible accusations of sexual abuse? Anyone with half a brain would not take a child they barely know in a vehicle traipsing around the country or city.

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

I wasn't suggesting that a go bag in general was a bad idea, just that my jw was a bit nuts about his and what it contained was ridiculous in real life situations. Furthermore, why would I trust anything coming from the gb or its entities. ( I don't know where he got his 'go bag")
In the US we are coming upon tornado season, it is a good idea to keep provisions on hand and if necessary put documents in dish washer as that seems to hold up to tornadoes. Go to your basements as needed and do not do as we do in the Midwest and go out on the porch to watch the storm. Don't give me grief about it, it's a thing we do, go watch the storm, and run to basement as needed. Yeah, we also grill out in snow storms. We are a hardy (maybe dumb) lot. Go Pack Go.

How they could change blood doctrine
by Person inmany people say gb will soon dump blood doctrine to appear less fanatical.
others saying it is impossible for them to do that because of legal ramifications.
i think there is a way that could potentially be solution to those problems.

How would you even know if a gb had a blood transfusion? they are all in the US where such things are protected by HIPPA laws.

New ministry, you don’t give a witness
by Mikejw inthere are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .
there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.
jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

So basically they are trying to tell members, "try to pretend you are just a normal person". If I were to tell a non jw about this whole thing including the history of d2d, they would think I was making it all up.
Years ago my Mother thought she met a new friend and was really happy they seemed to have so much in common! Then she found out it was all just a ruse to get her to join a mlm scheme. As soon as Mom wasn't interested the woman dropped her like a hot potato. jw's work the same way, I wonder how it will go now?

I don't get it. You mean they will try and strike up a conversation about whatever I am interested in? So I want to talk recipes or politics or how about these weird cases around the world involving jw's? can we talk about that?
How does this work in other countries where it is considered impolite to even talk to strangers on the street?

The 'Go Bags"! oh I can't even tell you how damn ridiculous my jw is about his 'go bag'. He was traveling for a bit a few years back and didn't go anywhere without it . He even wanted to get me one, cause at heart he is a nice guy. However, if you saw my pantry you would stifle a giggle as did I. I am a gardener, canner, dehydrator, herbalist and so forth. I have enough to last me through a catastrophe and then some. His 'go bag'? has some weird brick type food, I think 2 bottles of water, maybe some bandaids, and not much of real help if you ask me. I even offered a few things he might need.
I wonder at the carrying cash advice. A few years ago a local gas station lost power and the clerks were not able to give change for cash because they could not count 'up' and give change. If you have never worked in a restaurant to count up quickly you would do this- if the bill was 13.80 and the customer gave a 20.00 you would say, "and .20 makes 14.00 and 6.00 makes 20.00. Or actually count the six dollars, 15, 16, 17 and so forth. I know lots of kids who cannot grasp what I am telling them even when using real cash and change to show them. Not trying to say they are dumb or anything, just a different world. They can run circles around me with computer issues or social media.
