  i get a lot of attention from the average passerby and i got to thinking, what kind of reaction would somebody get from wearing one to a meeting [do you think]?

  I still wonder though, because it's not a true 'native' costume, how a dub would react to someone wearing one to a meeting?

  It's like a real kilt, only americanized.
  
  usually in a solid color [mine's black] and in my case, plenty of pockets. [my Survivalist style holds some 18 bottles of beer].
  
  After work tomorrow I should have some pictures for your enjoyment...

  When DF'd ones are reinstated are they treated as if they never were DF'd?

  basically my question is, is there a difference between a person who was inactive for 15 years and missed all the meetings, compared to a disfellowshipped person who also missed 15 years of meetings.

  lets say that both come back and after a few months both are active again.

  is the inactive person treated the same way as the one who has been reinstated?.

  Several years ago some of the DF'd™ people in my old congregations were my friends,so I missed them while they were out and was really happy when they came back. But they always seemed different and ill at ease.
  
  I was pretty dense in those days as I couldn't see why being back in Jehovahs Loving Organization™ would cause them any negative feelings. I guess if I haver been talked to by the elders about my immediate association with my friends I might have wised up sooner.
  
  Now that I'm older and wiser (i.e. out of the BOrg) I see they were weighed down with the stigma of being a bad human being.
  
  And to say one thing to anewme;
  If you take a different approach to being a witness, you won't remain a witness for long. You'll either leave, or be kicked out. The collective can't have individuals reading, meditating, thinking, healing, taking vacations, and engaing in leisure activities. Sets a bad example, doncha know?

  all baptized brothers asked to come to special meeting friday (tomorrow) at 7pm.

  bring the new organized book.. don't know what this is all about.

  judging from past experience, a whole lot of something about nothing..... .

  You know, nowthat you mention that, I remember going to one of those.
  
  Of course I had a newborn, a fulltime job, and a troubled marriage. After going to that 'encouraging' meeting I had a big ol' case of guilt for not feeling like I could do more.

  Didn't waste money on braces or higher education. Jehovah was going to fix me any day now...

  Why not offer a jacket or an extra morsel of food or at the very least a hug...
  
  I can picture them stand-offish and cold unless you want to listen to them.
  
  I wonder if they are imagining just how much worse than this their armaggedon is goingto be. Of course there will be no tv or internet so they won't be privy to all the carnage their "loving" god will wreak.
