Two Number 4s, and a large Cup of...
by RichieRich ina family in my congregation, who has recently fallen on some hard times, just had some hard times fall on them.
last saturday, a very large tree fell right square on their house.
no one was harmed, but it definitely hurt their wallets.

About Tattoos...
by Mastodon insomebody was asking me about tattoos and what the biblical rules about them are.
i also remember that a magazine (an awake!?
) mentioned that getting a tattoo is a matter of conscience.

Being in a college town in NW Washington state, tattoos are pretty commonplace, even on people 50+. The only thing holding me back from more is the money issue.

that you had just been another sucker on the vine.. when jehovah dumps you, you start looking at yourself longer and harder, and wondering what it was about him that you found in yourself, until all you see there in the reflection is just yourself, dancing with an imaginary hand and waistline.. when jehovah was gone, and the war was over, i realized that all the things that had made me "good", and "moral", and "hate what was bad", didn't mean anything to me anymore.

Guilty conscience
by lazuli inmy ex-bf is a baptized jw, i've been studying for about ten months already and i'm about to start in the school.
when we were together, we were very intimate, there was never any penetration, but there was pretty much everythings besides that.
not that its anyone's business but this included oral sex and such.

This is a really screwed up situation. I realize the need to purge the weight on your soul, but the elders™ have you trapped in a damned-if-you, damned-if-you-don't mindset.
Think about it down the road, if you're an informant now, about what happened in the past, before you got really serious about this religion, you will be expected to continue to rat out your brothers™ and sisters™. How does that build trusting relationships? Is that the life you want for yourself? -
