I have seen them set up a booth for the incoming students along with credit card companies, local businesses, causes from Greenpeace to the Republican party as well as a few other church groups.
I'd have to say they can count time for it, can you imagine a dub doing something and not being able to turn it in at the end of the month?

"Stumbling Stones" in the congregation
by JH ini remember a brother telling me many years ago, that he could have bought a beautiful fur coat to his wife, but he didn't want others in the congregation to be jealous.
that was the mentality back then.
no one wanted to be a stumbling stone.. gee, today you see acuras and expensive cars all around the kingdom hall parking lot.

My ex had a fur wrap that was given to her by my mom. It was older but nice and she was told it was immodest for the meetings. Jealousy? Of course the elders were "stumbling" over each other to sneak a peek at her 20-something cleavage. It was necessary to make sure her dress wasn't cut too low. I had a motorcycle, the ultimate in a non-service vehicle. But it was my only means of transportation and if I didn't ride it to the hall, somebody would have to go out of their way to give me a ride.

Has any body ever read this book "Lamb" by Christopher Moore?
by ldrnomo init's a great book if you have a sense of humor about god and christ in fact he quotes voltare in the begining.
"god is a comedian playing to an audience that's afraid to laugh".

by REBORNAGAIN inhas anyone experienced something really outrageous among the jw's that you want to share?.
we once had a couple of jw's follow us (policeing us) as we were on our way to my (then, he's now my ex) husband's boss's home.
his boss wanted us over for an end of the year party and didn't consider it a christmas party because he knew we didn't celebrate christmas.

For years I was passed over for "privileges" until one day when I was about 22 and some elder came up and asked if I wanted to advance. I was of course dumb enough to say "sure" and he replied it was time for me to think about getting baptised...
And I told him so. He said my card did not reflect that information. I said I can get all the information and witnesses to the event but said no that was okay. I do not know if my publisher card was ever updated because I was never used and then I moved to a different cong and another and so on... -

My hair is long
I have a beard
I have both ears pierced, one stretched to 2ga
I have both nipples pierced
I have a tattoo
I wear a Utilikilt
I smoke a pipe (several actually) and occasionally one or two Nat Sherman Naturals
So on the outside I'd have to say no.
BUT
I am socially awkward and insecure (Couldn't have friends on the outside, nobody would have me on the inside)
I am sexually retarded but trying to catch up(Marry the first girl you date)
I am quick to judge and even quicker to anger (but also quick to settle down)
I am a poor student but people tell me I'm smart
I am good at hiding what I think and feel
I don't know if people can tell. Friends I have told are surprised so I guess the final answer is no, people cannot tell -

i didn't really want to go, he's not my thing but my wife wanted to see him so i went along for the ride.
he is actually an extremely talented guitarist and pianist and he can sing too.
