Is Field Service Going To Be The Key To The End Of The WatchTower Society?
by Honesty infor the past 6 months i have been speaking to church and youth groups in the surrounding area.
the topic has been how to show love to the jw's when they come to your door.
in the past, many of the people i talk with have been rude to the jw's.

any knowledgable persons talking with dubs as they try to convert them can raise in them serious doubts.
I'm not so sure - any ADULT and intelligent person would have doubts and do research BEFORE joining.
Anyone got any idea what the average age for baptism is? AND I think the baptismal ''oath'' has been altered to accommodate changing beliefs. IF we are baptised in God's name, that is constant. God is constant, but the WTBTS is always in a state of change, and it needs to take its
victimsfollowers with it. -

The Atheist's Book of Bible Stories - Ch. 14 - Bible Justice
by RunningMan ini get really sick and tired of hearing people talk about the righteous judicial system of the bible.
bible justice
most of the faithful men of old had slaves.

Principle #5: Every now and then, punish someone innocent.
....and who says that the WTBTS doesn't follow Bible principles? -

Running Man's Book
by startingover ini find it interesting now that quite a few chapters of runningman's book are now posted that they are so avoided by the christians on this board.
at least it sure seems that way as few if any comments are made by them.. if there is a christian apologists thread started, the athiests are usually there posting because they have a reasonable argument and can debate it.
apparently for the christians there is no way to do that with runningman's writings.

I love the Running Man series - I REALLY must get the book. Made me aware of stories I didn't know and chopped some good logic. Thanks Running Man.

Usually a loyal dub would consult the elders if something difficult came up
That's what they all say - I really don't think the average JW is qualified to speak to anyone about the Bible - they don't even understand their own beliefs or how the Watchtower arrived at them. I am STILL awaiting a return call from 2 JW (neither of whom could explain 1914 from the Bible to me - but they're finding out!) Amazing - 1914 is a BASIC belief, always has been.

do JWs believe in dinosaurs?
by tsunami_rid3r inthe bible doesnt mention them at all.
so what the hell?

Hellrider - I used to try and accomodate both theories. I used to think (as I was taught to) that God created Adam and Eve, and from them humans continued but the bad ones evolved backwards (then I could justify to myself any evidence for evolution).

So IF dinosaurs lived prior to Adam and Eve, then animals were created to die. AND I don't see what purpose they would have? God doesn't need to create anything organic to fulfill a purpose, eg, like the ''flattening the earth'' theory I heard as a child!!!

I heard from one person that when she brought dinosauros up, the jw talked about WHALES!
The whale is about 4 inches (that's 7 inches in bloke-speak) to the right of the dinosaur in the NWT.

Dorie, first of all I must say how refreshing it is to see the word 'diarrhoea' spelt correctly.
I don't think the Bible ever mentions the UN being the Beast of Revelation - but the Society's publication (Revelation, Grand Climax) does. The WTBTS (Watchtower) preach that it's very naughty to ride the Wild Beast UNLESS it's to obtain a library card (Libraries are also NOT mentioned in the Bible).
keeping in mind he's 11 and can't subtract?... thats not good!....
This is very sad - your nephew is coming up to baptism and he is unable to work out all the false dates for himself, (although any personal study outside of the WT publications is not encouraged - I know this from personal experience). As the Society rely so heavily on specific dates, they should make certain their members know how to arrive at these dates - try asking your sister how she arrives at 1914 or 607, (SHE doesn't and won't be able to tell you) - I imagine her answer will be, ''I DO know but I'll have to work it out again and get back to you''
Only you know what is current with her - your best option is to focus on one or two points and learn them thoroughly - we can help with Bible back up, and what is MORE important, back up from the Watchtower's own literature.
Best Wishes. Midwich.

Well, for what it's worth, I like it, it looks very well done. Am a virgin in that department myself, but I do like looking at tattoos. The 'initials' incorporated is a really nice touch. Personal and unique.
