Katie - I take it you're not scouring the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures TM) for names for your little one ?

The Candy Jar
by reneeisorym ini thought i would ask for advice after reading the post about the common refridgerator.. i have a candy jar on my desk.
for a while i would put candy in it especially around holidays.
now why can't he buy his own candy?

Renee - firstly - that's a really kind thing to do . I, however, agree with others - you're clearly doing this for your fellow colleagues. I think he's taking the p*ss waiting till you've left work before emptying the remainder of the jar into his pockets to take home - why does he (or anyone) need to go by your desk when you're not there? I'd lock it up at night - and during working hours, if you can see him approach from a distance, you ought swiftly hide it!

Society developing anti-apostate software for JW's computers
by yaddayadda inheard a rumour that the society is working on an 'anti-apostate' software programme for jw's to purchase thru the congregation and instal on their home pc's to block access to apostate websites.
it will be based on standard anti-porn software and on the 500 most commonly used words on apostate websites.

Sympathy Alert! Sympathy Alert!
by HadEnuf inour poor little brookie (whyamihere) got her poor little finger slammed in the door by my adorable grandson tonight (accidently of course).
she had to go to the hospital and get big needles stuck in her finger to releave the pressure and is now enjoying the benefits of pain medication.
i'm sure she could use some well wishes as fingers are very important and so is my lovely brookie (whyamihere).

Please accept my deepest sympathy. Looking at funerals now (as an ex-Dub), I can see how poor JW funerals really are. There's NOTHING in them for the Society - just the loss of a little income from a departed 'publisher' - so better make the most of it by taking the opportunity of a recruitment drive.
I will (probably) only ever have to attend ONE more JW funeral, and that grieves me just thinking about how impersonal it will be. JWs (and I was just as guilty) criticise 'Worldly' funerals, as they are often conducted by the clergy who never knew the deceased - but frankly, within JW Congregations, 'knowing' someone for over 20 years, and conducting their funeral, STILL results in less interest than a 'stranger' would show.

badboy - I am, I am. He said the Society was UNAWARE of this individual's association with the UN. What a load of crap. He was too stupid to reason with anyway. I think things get 'filtered' between USA and Britain. British Dubs are VERY in the dark, and need educating!

I've posted this response before, so just repeating myself, lol. A couple of years a go I told a visiting Dub about this - he returned a few weeks later and told me he'd called a 'brother' in America who told him it WASN'T the Society who'd obtained a library card, but just an individual for personal use. The stupidity amazes me.

FOR THOSE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE GOING TO THE ASSEMBLY, HERE'S SOME TIPS:
by Mary inyes, there are several of us that either have to go to the crap-assed assembly this year, or simply because we plan on taking notes and posting them here.
knowing how bloody boring the entire thing is, i've made some tips up on how you can keep awake during the 2007 borefest:are you really going to the assembly this year?
are you ready to fall asleep by 10:05am when the opening song and prayer are over?

Lol - you've all made it very tempting to actually GO to an Assembly. I think I may one day - - but just for the sheer 'theme park like' enjoyment 9and to 'spread' a little info
