Hello LearningToFly - thankyou for this post (although I haven't yet read it in its entirety, as it touched a nerve somewhat).
Welcome and please stay.
hello fellow forum members, i am very new here, and feel it is time to share a little about myself.
this site has gotten me quite riled up again, and even after many years my experience is not memorable and still upsets me when i think of it.
my beginning experience of joining the jw organization at age 6 was not unpleasant at all, and was not for many years.

ok guys and gals, i (being the assistant to the magazine counter) have acquired the newest okm.. i have uploaded it to imagevenue.com: here.
hopefully that works!.
by the way drew, your translation was very close.
After reading frozen one's post, made me think. Maybe there's no need to 'recruit' more - the Society just needs to maintain the 'Status Quo'...with investments and donations (and property sales), maybe it's achieved a method of 'ticking over' with minimal prophet profit....the dubs will be brainwashed into thinking see questions from householders as originating with Satan, and thus dismissible....the Org needs to be SEEN as doing the preaching work..and the R&F need to BELIEVE they are doing it.
is it now possible for jehovah's witnesses to make credit card donations to the watchtower society on line?.
if so, could you direct me to the web site.
thanks!.
Well, I for one am disgusted....they more or less condemn the Internet yet use it to rake in money - As JWs are discouraged from searching the Net (anything JW related at least), do they advertise this 'link' to the faithful dubs? ... if not...hmmmm

Is this what you're looking for Gill....

I think this is amazing - as a JW I would perceive it as discouragement from studying The BIBLE (which I think is what they're trying to achieve, for fear of JWs actually understanding Scriptures differently to the Org's interpretation), and of course, the Org's bad interpretation of it.
''For those who wish to do extra Bible study and research, we recommend that they explore Insight on the Scriptures, "All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial," ''etc...
...but NO mention of The BIBLE. All 'Bible' studying to be overseen by the Org!
It is commendable for individuals to want to use their thinking ability in support of the good news
Yep...a lttle patronisation, lol.
As I see it, the Org's getting careless....a revolt of 6 million members and it wouldn't stand a chance. Sadly the 'old folks' understand this type of propoganda as protection from the 'World'

Nooooo - even THEY'RE not that brazen, surely - passing the cyber collection plate ? How much were you thinking of donating Gill?
mike just rang me to say that one of my old elders was chasing me up.. bit of background information my brother and his now wife both baptized fell pregnant before they got married, her mum also a jw paid for an abortion!!!!!
anyway my sister in law told me all about it.
i too told a few people i know not wanting to get them into trouble but i guess i didnt want people to think i was the only bad sheep in the family, anyway this was over 2 years ago.. someone that i told has just recently mentioned it to the elders after two years and now they are chasing me up to see if the rumour is true.. mike told him to mind his own business and dont expect for me to call them back.
Es - but surely as a df'ed Apostate, you tell LIES...
claire posted the news earlier this week that ian has received the stem cell transplant.
once again, here's the link for sending ian an e-greeting at the christie hospital.. .
http://www.christie.nhs.uk/egreeting/default.aspx.
Just sent one ... all hospitals should have this available, I think it's a great idea.
I agree with nvrgbk - local dubs here believe contributions are barely keeping missionaries (World Wide Work)..everything is on a 'shoestring' - lol
but how has having a place like jwd improved your life?.
.
I've learned 'stuff' that's justified my leaving...I'm very grateful to all those who 'keep finger on pulse' ...constantly reporting and keeping 'ahead' of the WTBTS...and I admire (and am grateful to) people like Danny Hazsard who are relentless in their mission!
