i visited the site a number of years ago.

just returned.. i'm a former jw.

i disassociated myself in 1988 at the age of 18. my mother had divorced my non-believing father and hooked up with one of her jw pioneer sisters brothers and she ended up disfellowshipped.

I didn't see the video - so couldn't comment on it, but from Danny's comments, I suspect all is not as it seems.

New generation change: blaming rank & file again?

the worst part of the "1995 generation change"- implementation was for me personaly the watchtower study-article defining the new (or changed) doctrine.

the article mentioned that rank & file witness "thought" that the generation was related to 1914 because they want it so.

it hurted me deeply and i am still agry (12 years later!)..

Didn't the Awake magazine run (until 1995) on page 2...

"the Creator’s promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away."

What? Am I reading this right? Are they suggesting that the R&F invented ''the 1914 Generation will not pass away''?...

Well, I suppose, they did state that the R&F (several million of them) invented 1975.

so we have been led to believe that we will all look the same as we do now...except we will have no flaws and a perfected body without deformity or ailment.

hmmm..... how do we know this to be true?

is there any scriptural reference to this aspect of "resurrection"?

after the sunday culttower study is over, everyone will be expected to preach because the end is soooooooo close!.

[minimus i have added to the title so people can read yor correction.

otherwise i think people might just miss it.

Just an afterthought - if the public are excluded, would this affect the 'Charity' status - as it would be 'private clubbish' and not 'benefitting' community?

Well, the 'Public Talk' was never very 'public' anyway

If this is accurate, it makes perfect sense to me...

tula ........a CLOSED PRIVATE CLUB. They are locking the doors to outsiders!

Remember - the WT denies any prediction of Armaggeddon arriving in 1975, yet still built up the R&F into a '75 Frenzy? If the doors are seen to be 'locking' (WT & talks for JW only - excluding 'Worldly' peeps), a few trigger words like 'Noah', 'Ark' etc and we have 1975 revisited. People will be too scared to leave, and those on edge will return increasing the numbers.

you could have stupid new light every week published and the vast majority aren't going anywhere.

you could see proof of contradiction after contradiction right in front of your nose, if you're a witness.

and you still won't budge.. the reason: mental and spiritual laziness.

Too True - JWs now live for ~~New Lies~~ 'New Light', and it doesn't matter how ridiculous it is! As other posters have mentioned, it would take a strong character to admit to being 'hoodwinked' for many years.

Regarding 'Where else would we/I go?'...I've heard this sooooo many times from JWs - it must be brainwashed into all of them.

The latter - free labour. Not totally free - 'publishers' work for ongoing false prophesies and pay with their lives/freedom.

I think the only people this matters to are the R&F who may see it as significant. Do the public actually READ the WT anyway? The Awake maybe...so perhaps it'll be more 'Worldly Education'-like, not 'deep' crap that only JWs ~~pretend to~~ can understand.
