  Jw's and funerals

  i have a thoughtful question.

  when a jw dies and there is a funeral or memorial for them, just how much of that person is 'remembered" or talked about?

  do they just have a funeral service for them, or do they turn the memorial into a wt study?

  As I recall, the only time the deceased is mentioned (briefly) is in relation to the WT (they knew it was the Truth, faithful etc etc)...nothing about their life outside of the Org.

  Says it all really...it's all about peddling Watchtower crap, not spreading any 'lifesaving message' as I'd think (in a mixed neighbourhood) he would have been carrying an English Bible from which he could have 'shared' a thought/Scripture.

  Ditto what everyone else said. I too always found it 'uncomfortable' referrring to my 'Heavenly Father' by (what I believed to be) his Name...if I called my Earthly Father by name, I'd have got a slap, lol.

  As I understand, Jews do not attempt to pronounce the Tetragrammaton for fear of blasphemy, as the correct pronounciation has been lost. The name 'Jehovah' was invented in 1270 by a CATHOLIC monk, Raymundus Martini.

  How many articles have you read that ask for money and then gives the stories of young children robbing their piggy banks and sending in 2 or 3 dollars?
