i think that some people deserve to be excommunicated, such as pedophiles.

but what about the tens of thousands of others that have their life wrenched out from under them by being disfellowshipped?.

and what about those that have a family member that died because of not receiving a blood transfusion?

what if s leave the witnesses and immediatelygoes on to do all the things the bible condemns doesn't that show they have lost a faith in god more than the Jws?

I have better morals/standards than a lot of JWs I know/have known - including yourself.

When armageddon arrives what if we get a few minutes of realisation before it strikes, what if the fire is reigning from heaven and destroying all including the people around us that have done all the things Gods condemns like adultery, fornication and have rejected the bible, Can they cry foul when the God has given them and the world clear warning?

See above. Leaving a corrupt 'religion' does not equate with leaving God or disregarding Bible principles.

Bethel and Prisons using slave labor for profit!

behtel has workers who are paid basically nothing!

a small "re-inbursment" for expenses.

prison is the same...making license plates for $2 dollars an hour....mc donalds resturants are not far behind.

Hello 77 (I can't call you 'verystupid', lol) - I'm just re-reading CoC, and Ray Franz remarks on how 'bethelites' respond to how long they've served at bethel -

I had never heard one of these young men respond by saying in round figures, 'about a year' or 'about two years', but, 'one and seven',

'two and five', 'three and one' and so forth always giving the year or years and the exact number of months. I could not help but think of the way

men serving a prison sentence often follow a similar practice of marking off time.

reniaa - do you sit at your keyboard all day waiting to post ill-informed and very bitter crap? I can't comment (on bethel) as I have never been, but many here have, and I very much doubt you are one of them. I know a lot of (current) JWs who would be ashamed to call you 'sister'.

Why doesn't the WT just make a statement of MJ's standing with them?

i just heard mention on the news of jw's again pertaining to burial etc concerning mj.. i have heard and read more jw stuff in the media since his death than ever in the media.. why not just come out and make a statement where mj stood with the organization?.

Reniaa, you have no right to 'point the finger' at another saying, ''you no longer live the witness life'' - as YOU don't yourself. You have no credibility. Highdose (like any rational individual) recognises the WT for what it is.

Welcome Highdose I remember 'Worldly' people being portrayed as totally amoral (and quite scary) compared to JWs - but that's what the Watchtower wants us to believe. From what I understand (and from my personal knowledge) there are more people suffering 'mental illness' amongst JWs than the population at large. JWs do NOT follow the Bible (as you've probably figured out for yourself) but a forever changing list of manmade rules (no wonder JWs suffer mentally). Stick around here, you won't need the drugs anymore! (The Truth will set you free, as they say)

i received this vomit-inducing email from a jw:.

i had the tonight show w/ conan o'brien playing in the background, at first i was shocked to hear what i heard, yet very happy to see what was being prominently displayed in public view for the entire world to see (as the show is syndicated internationally)!

yup, the study version of our dear watchtower with the words announcing jehovah's kingdom prominently on the front cover.

Lolol - yep you're right. Dubs wouldn't bat an eyelid at a sketch presenting a Bible, they sadly believe their literature is more important (at least that's the impression I get). I was thinking about this the other day, and I believe that if the Watchtower phased the Bible out completely, the majority of JWs either wouldn't notice or wouldn't care.

hi newbie here, i have a question that is begining to bug me a little.

i am not a jw or ever will be but my partner was some years ago and quite devout about the religeon then she was df'd for commiting adultry with another man (not me) who was not a jw, she got divored from her jw husband and left behind her 2 boys and went to live with 'the other man', anyway over the years her relationship with her 2 boys began to grow again and now she see's them once every 2 weeks, i should perhaps point out that her ex is a devout jw, she has told me that she would like to at some point go back to the 'hall' and carry on her religeon, i said that i dont have a problem with that but, i wasn't keen on the idea of her walking the streets knocking on doors due to the amount of hatred that some poeple clearly have for jw's and the fact that we now seem to live in a violent world, yes i know that jw's have to do so much 'service work', she has told me that she has not visited a hall since her df so therefore has not repented her sins as it were but on sunday she said that there was an assembly in our local vicinity (it's the annual one) and she would like to go.

i found this a bit odd that someone who had been df'd would be allowed to go to the jw's event of the year so began to wonder if whilst visiting her sons she maybe did visit the hall to somehow show repent with a view to be allowed back into the faith.

As you're living together (unmarried), she won't be able to apply for reinstatement until after your marriage. The Watchtower discourages marrying 'outsiders', and although you may respect her beliefs it is unlikely that she will respect yours (sorry).
