Desperate JW's answered an otherwise ignored advertiement for a car that was TOOOOO cheap (disgruntled wife selling husband's car at knock-down price) - was JEHOVAH making car available for HIS people.

Any "Miraculous" experience happen to you like the ones said at Conventions
by soundbox_guy ini had to sit through those experiences at the convention, i was wondering, did any of you used to be one of those people on stage giving an experience about how something miraculously happened like getting the exact amount of money you needed to pay your rent on the day it was due?
i always hear the stories, but can anybody actually tell me something like this has happened to them when they were a good little witness?
and if it has, did these sort of "events" stop taking place after you left?

The GB of the JWs guilty or naive and ignorant ?
by greendawn insome people believe that the gb of the jws are a bunch of well meaning but naive and ignorant individuals who do not really mean to cause the harm they do cause in the r & f and they may not even be aware of it.
i personally disagree with that and believe that everything they do is based on shrewd cold blooded calculations that are meant to promote their interests, that they sold their souls to the devil as it were in exchange of a huge intoxicating power trip.
they are fully aware of the harm they cause but their conscience is singed beyond all sensitivity.

i know some can be pretty dogmatic in these areas, lets not try to be, lets look at this thing from many angles.

I'm not so sure - for some of them anyway, where they are is all they have ever known. The World has changed and they can't (age, isolation and technology have all but defeated them)
doofdaddy - Yes, I think THEIR belief of ''right'' has usurped the original purpose, they are struggling with their own interpretations as they must know by now they haven't got God's inspiration (and if they DON'T know, well, they're pretty much alone).

I agree mostly with Free2beme - even though I have never met a member of the GB, there has to be some members who are genuine (as indeed Ray Franz was). They may be disillusioned - imagine being sincere only to realise those messages you received were not from God and now you are too old and fragile to make waves.
Psychoanalysis is strictly Freud, and we all know what he thinks - lol.
Something I don't understand is the vast amount of property the WTBTS own. Why is it being amassed? And NOW I've mentioned that, I have started to think of Beth Sarim (?) - wasn't this built for the ''men of old''? I only wonder because IF they did return, surely they would have had their pick of luxurious property vacated by the recently dead.

i think we can cause things to happen just by intentions, some may have more power in this than others, but i think if enough of us unite in this intention we can make it happen, call it channeling energy or what ever you want.

I shouldn't imagine that they are aware of whether the rank and file are suffering or not - they are completely detached from Society. They are dispensing ''God's Word''.
As for 'senility' and mental health checks (your former thread) - I would think that anyone who claims to be receiving messages from God would be diagnosed with at worst schizophrenia and at best eccentricity. Age is immaterial - these chaps have been making this claim since before ''senility'' (old age) would be an issue.
