  Today's speaker - statistics re terrorism

  according to today's speaker: up till 1971 there had only been 24 people killed by terrorists.

  by 1983 there had been 17,000 and it's still on the rise.

  my question: what is the definition of terrorism?

  "faithful and discreet slave" and therefore that the society was not.

  the witnesses as "the faithful and discreet slave".. .

  This is something I have to agree with - and because of it I can't see how anyone can be disfellowshipped when the Society changes Its mind receives New Light. Maybe this is why the baptism questions have recently changed?

  again we have been witnessing a hideous, horrible act of terrorism where cowards and maniacs have blown up innocent people.

  it is thoroughly distressing and revolting.

  being a bit cynical about it this it is in all probability a payback to britain for blairs staunch support to george bush.

  Norm - it is wrong. The terrorists did not target what THEY believed to be the enemy but DELIBERATELY chose innocent random people - old, young, regardless of race or religion. This is mass murder.

  the gb of the wts has to clarify the issue of the wts ownership by choosing one of the two points below as the valid one but not both.

  1. the wts is an organisation belonging to humans, a business that just like any other human business has its owners that demand to have the right to exert total control over its affairs and to exclude from it all outsiders.

  these owners are the shareholders, unknown in this case.

  The more I read on here, the more I think the WTBTS is a very smart business operation.

  Recruiting an unpaid workforce - how clever is that? The lack of genuine love shows that these members are dispensible, and as long as they don't 'make waves' (thus maybe damaging further business, sales, what's the word I'm looking for?) they have served a purpose. A good turnover of free labour. Baptise them young and get more years out of them.

  KIDNAPPING - Taking a loved one until ransom is paid? - I see you're all ahead of me here. Has disfellowshipping always been a WTBTS policy? If it was dissolved tomorrow and members were given a choice to walk away if they didn't believe (and suffer no shunning), how many would? I think we all know - and so do the GB - in which case it isn't FAITH or love for the Org that is keeping a vast amount of its members. Keep Spirituality to yourselves and show us figures we can publish.

  The irony of Russell's Pyramid is, he created the ultimate pyramid scheme.

  Resurrection thread

  i seen a lot of emphasis on the resurrection in the borg recently like the dc talk preparing people for dying in "this system" and calling them presumptious for thinking otherwise and the recent wt study articles.

  but does the borg still teach that death is the wages of sin.

  does this appply to people df'd and da'd who die?

  With death we pay for our sins. So all the Witnessing that took place a century ago (in my opinion) was a waste of time. They are all now equal in Death.
