How can a child be actively shunned? Surely this would amount to child abuse - and possibly have a long-term effect on him/her?

Baptisms (WT legal contract) null and void
by Sacchiel inis there any truth that people under the age of eighteen cannot be held under a legal contract (which is what the wt views baptism as, a legally binding document to the society)?
the result would be that individual cannot be disfellowshiped since that person was underage and above all, never even signed a document.
is this applicable in the us at least?.

my father worked his butt off for years at his job and for the wbts.. in the 60's he was a painter and use to bathe in benzine to clean him self off.
this was before anyone new this was a cancer causing chemical.. he worked for years at assemblys, and as an elder etc.. he realized the foolishness of 1975 and started saving big time leaving my mother a nice savings account plus a huge retirement fund.. he developed kidney cancer at age 60 due to the benzine and survived.

I'd be angry too. These blokes haven't a worry in the World - makes me wonder why they want to prolong their life on Earth when they believe they have a better existence just waiting for them.

by Honesty inwe as jehovah's witnesses do not allow people to become baptized prior to gaining accurate knowledge of what we believe and teach according to the bible.
if someone wants to join with us in worship and become baptized, they must also demonstrate that they know what they are getting into.
that they agree with what we believe and teach.. .

It's no coincidence that all newly Baptised are 'children'. Children believe what they are taught. They don't question. What the WTBTS is doing (in allowing children to be Baptised) is not only unfair, but I believe unscriptual too. Children learn at their own rate...and I think the Bible makes clear distinctions.

i was born into a violent abusive JW family
by ania inthe abuser was my father, we were all (7 children) abused severely (including our mother) as a child i did not understand what exactly was going on but after many years of councelling and so-forth (my counceller tells me, my case is the most severe she has had in her 12 years as a counceller) i discovered that my father was (is) a sado-masichist.
he got sexual enjoyment from beating us all.
i already knew this to an extent i just never realised there was actually a name for what he got out of it.. after 20 odd years of this abuse, my mother had tried to go through the right channels (the elders, in several congregations we moved to etc) in order to get permission to take her children and live separate to her husband who was a constant threat to our very lives (he was a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic & incrediably unpredictable) she was however told time and again that if she left her husband she and her unbaptised children (under 18) would most certainly lose out on everlasting life.
