My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

TBH I think the wine was alcohol free.
So basically grape juice...? Then the whole 'ritual' wasn't in keeping with Christ's commandments, lol.

5/15 WT - WT Society Displays Condescending Attitude towards Marriage
by flipper inas most of us know the wt society has always claimed that it's dissapproved in god's sight to marry a non-jw .
although they've never made it a disfellowshipping offense, any jw who marries outside the jw organization is looked at as " weak " or lacking " spirituality " and loses certain alleged " privileges " in the congregations.
they use scriptures in the old testament as support for this.

As others have pointed out - CULT. The Church of England doesn't impart all these ridiculous boundries on its members - but then again, it isn't a dangerous organisation which breaks up families. People who go to 'Church' do so because they (mostly) want to, not because they're afraid of the repurcussions.
The danger of a JW marrying a non-believer is that the WT will lose a member due to them having some sense talked into them.

Answer I got to the UN association.
by Inisc inso, this a long story but i'll try to keep it short.
this was about 2years ago,.
my wife brought up the un thing to my parents, much to their horror and despite me advising her not to.

why would they join the un just for a library card?
That's what I always though mP. Surely any information the UN holds (from the Society's perspective) would be propoganda/lies anyway?

It is tomorrow, Thursday.
Thanks Shipper - I only found out yesterday (another non-JW source). I originally thought it was Friday as I believe that's the next full moon.

Do I have this right?
by allyouneedislove indo i have this right?.
jw are to be completely obedient to the fds.
they are not to question, speak against the teachings of, or disobey the fds.. however, the fds's teachings change and many past teachings are now seen as incorrect.. still, though, jws are to completely and unquestionably obey all teachings of the fds, no matter if they personally believe such are wrong or if they carry severe consequenses.. .

It's exciting being a JW, because you don't know what your beliefs will be from week to week.

So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?
by garyneal inafter the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.
" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.
evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

DAD: They don't know everything and are trying to do what they are told to do- don't think you can outsmart the Governing Body - i know I can't
I'd have been gobsmacked by that a few years ago. Not now. I've only mentioned it once to a JW, and they responded that they always believed in overlapping generations. Eh? Yes, that they were the same generation as their parents as their lives overlapped.
