  If your mate, had an affair, what would you do ??? really, think it out ...

  toughest question anyone can ask, if the love of your life, and mate/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend messed around on you, whether it be once or for years, how would you handle it and what would you do, think about it slowly and carefully.. wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.. it's said that 50 % of marriages are affected by an affair, it's probaly alot higher.. did you notice any affairs in your congregation ???.

  i look back now, and think, oh yeah there was.

  My ex did cheat on me. The bitch he was doing was also married. Her husband's sister had been following her, because they suspected she was cheating. Her sister in law manage to film them driving to a house, necking on the porch. When they went inside, she video'd them in the living room making out. And NO, they didn't notice it.

  I was working a 16 hour shift and was given the tape the next day. Oh, I got even! My ex has sleep apnea REAL bad. I was able to put a foley catheter in him, without the bag. Then I left for work. A wet bed woke him up. His mom's a nurse, too. He had to explain to her why it happened. I had bought him a 200 disc CD player. Most of the CDs got superglued in it, so they wouldn't play. Then every window in his truck, and all the glass gat smashed. Then it "rained" about 15 gallons of water in the has tank!!

  I didn't get mad, just even. She ended up dumping him a couple months later.

  Can jws give a blood sample?

  I have taken many samples from JW's either in the ER or on the floor. They never knew that a 2X DF'd nurse was taking care of them!! A few were so snotty, I wanted to tell them SO bad! BUT, I was good. Do you know how hard that was? For me, extremely!!!! There have been several that tried to "witness" to the staff. We just let it go in one hear and out the other. Of course, the other nurses knew what I thought. We trashed several magazines and books they'd leave. The waiting rooms would be full of literature. It was a standing joke for me to go on "trash patrol" to get rid of the crap.

  JWs required to report medical information to elders

  there was an article, i believe in the awake!, that talks about a hypothetical medical worker who in a hypothetical situation comes to find out that a jw has accepted a medical procedure that is not accepted by the wts.

  this hypothetical worker must decide where or not she will report the hypothetical violation to the elders.

  does anyone recall where i can find this article?

  I've been a nurse for 15 years. I know of one instance where a JW was head of PR in a major hospital in DFW. She told me she took it in order to help Dr's understand the blood position and what is available in its place. A JW took the blood in an emergency situation, and she couldn't run fast enough to the elders. She lost her job the next day because some nurse (can't imagine who), got HIPPA involved before her supervisors knew what it. Breaking privacy laws (HIPPA), is a BIG no-no!

  would you let your child associate with Jehovahs Witnesses?

  i'm the only one of my family who is not in 'the truth', and my family don't want anything to do with me.. however, today my mum asked me if she can take my 2 year old to visit the rest of the family, i'm not invited and wouldn't be welcome at any of their houses, so she would be taking my daughter alone.. i told her i would think about it.. i really don't think it would be practical because my daughter is not familiar with the family and i don't want her to be upset.. but the main reason |'m thinking of saying no is that i feel offended that i am not good enough for them to speak to.. am i being selfish if i say no?

  Letting your child go would be like handing her over to the DARK FORCE & Lord Vador!

  Then we'd have to find Yoda!!!!!

  Would you let your child go into a group of people, knowing that somewhere lurks a child molestor?

  That eventually they'll look for a way to turn her against you!!

  Whats the spookiest thing that has happened to you?

  i have had a few experiences which some could be dealt with rationally although even to this day the coincidences seem too convenient; .

  mine was on new years day in 1994; i didnt celebrate new years at the same although i was about to start my fade that year; i was ill on new years eve anyway and i had been sleeping when i awoke at precisely 12.13. i couldnt get back to sleep but there was no obvious reason why.. my grandmother was in hospital but she was getting better when i had last spoken to her; i managed to back off to sleep but woke that following morning for some reason really concerned about my gran; just as i was coming downstairs the phone rang and my girlfriend answered it.

  i said to her before she got to the phone that it would be my mother with bad news about my gran; i was right on both counts; it was my mum and my gran had died.....at 12.13 precisely..

  There have been several instances when I knew something that was going to happen before it did.knew when a hot water heated blew up on my dad. I knew my daughter was pregnant. There have been several things that have happened. But my grandma was the same way.

  How many days did you spend in the Hall?

  i just did some rough (haha) figuring to determine how many days i spent just sitting at the hall during meetings.

  i just rounded to the nearest year to be liberal in take into account missed meetings and the like.

  i know the number is higher but i dont feel like getting more exact.. this just counts regular meeting times, not before and after fellowship, not fs, meeting prep, or assemblies.. i came up with 349 days.

  I have the normal 5 hours weekly for meetings, the field service on weekends and in summer, the conventions,.etc. But boy did I put in OVERTIME with the elder's meetings. They logged some serious hours with me. Oh well, someone had to keep them jumping!!!

  Witnesses and alcoholism

  my jw husband has made me promise to let him die rather than approve a blood transfusion because of bible doctrine; however, the same bible speaks against alcoholism and drunkeness and yet he continues to drink and sometimes gets absolutely smashed.. last night we were at a non-jw staff party for my place of employment, and he lost any shred of dignity through his heavy drinking.

  we got home at 3 a.m. and he jumped out of bed at 8:20 and said, "i have to get to book study; i'm reading today.

  (it behooves me how he can do this time and again without even taking so much as an asparin!).

  My stepd, a MS, drank until oblivion. That's usually when he'd come to my bedroom.

  After I was DF'd, a friend and I were partying at a bar 30 miles away from home. Who did I stumble on to? A group of MS &elders. I could't resist the urge to send them a round of drinks. For a minute I think they thought the drinks were demonized!! That was priceless!!!!!

  (i made a thread like this but it seemed to have gotten lost).

  i got in some heated discussions years ago over what i would and would not tolerate from people with regard to abuse on a personal level.

  we were always fed the line that we should forgive our brother, etc.

  i just noticed, today, that i broke the 10,000 post mark - a tenfold-jedi.. there i was givin' me ole mucker ozzie a right slagging off, t'other day, fer doin' t'same.... ...an i've gorn n dunnit, me sel'.. please don't congratulate, as commiserations are more in order - it's a sad milestone in my life, that so much of the last four years of said live could have been consumed by such ridiculous and inane drivel!.

  perhaps i would.. struggeling with doubts of course, but going to the meetings and turning in 2 or 3 hours on my report every month like i used to.... what about you guys?

  I left in 1981, after figuring it out it wasn't OK for my stepdad, a MS to sexually abuse me. I missed my family so much I was reinstated. That lasted 3 months, DF'd again (that goodness). For many years I was NUTS- drunking, drugging, and all that partying comes with. Then I got suicidial. After I found these sites several years back I feel ALMOST normal. At least for us. Besides, it's a heck of alot funner than being in the mental wing and doing the thorazine shuffle!! But now I know it is ok for me to have gone thru all that I did. That I didn't do all this, (well, most of it)---they did it!! Now, I can be crazy with the rest of you!!!

  For being demonized, ain't this site great!!! LOL
