  What does your name mean?

  i was looking through one of them baby name books, and looked up my name scott to see what its meaning is, i got.

  scott "meaning of scotland" ........ how boring is that!

  i would have prefered "mighty one" or "handsome stud" or something........... still "of scotland" it is...... what about yours?

  i would have gotten baptised at the first "special assembly day" but i got sick just a few days before.

  so i got baptised at the d.c.that same year instead.

  i regret it, but at the time i thought i was doing the right thing, i sincerely believed i was dedicating my life to serving god.

  Should JW's be trying to convert others to their faith?

  if you think about it, what happens if one of the persons in a marriage gets converted to the jw religion, while the other one chooses not to believe?

  or the husband is at work, and the wife gets to meet the jw at the door, has bible studies with them, gets converted, and then the husband wakes up one day and finds he is living with a jw mate.

  what happens if a jw couple is out in the field service, and one gets converted to another religion, precisely as a result of doing the kingdom field service work.. in all of these instances, it results in a religiously divided home.

  Political affiliation after leaving org.

  how long did it take you to decide if you were a liberal or conservative after leaving the organization?

  i find it interesting that even though it took me a number of years to get up the courage to vote, i knew right away i was politically/socially liberal.

  i knew that i had strong feelings about protecting the environment, about civil rights, free speech, etc.

  Knowing she still has you stokes her ego. She has no respect for you because she knows at the drop of a hat...one little gesture from her...and you'll be drooling all over her. Reverse the situation. Would you be interested in a girl that would come running when you snap your fingers. Hell no. We all need a challenge. What we can't have is what we want the most. Human nature. Learn it, live it.

  Yep, be friendly and polite, but indifferent as to her feelings for you. As Evil said, this is extremely tough. If you wear your heart on your sleeve, you seem needy, and she'll lose all respect for you. Relationships are like houses. You start with the foundation, which is FRIENDSHIP. Then you build the walls, which is RESPECT. Then the roof, PASSION. Without these three elements, it won't last. And you have to build the relationship in that order. Right now, she has no respect for you. Disconnect from your feelings for a while. Act aloof, as hard as that is. You've got to see this as a marathon, not a sprint. Buy and read the book "Love Tactics" by Tom McKnight.

  on may 5, 2005 the thought occured to me: it's 05/05/05.

  now, next year do you think jws -- and/or all fundamentalist groups, etc -- will be anticipating or freak out on june 6, 2006?

  it'll be 06/06/06 or, more diabolically extrapolated (as they do so well...), 666!!!
