I saw Jaws during it's first weekend of release, in a huge theater in Riverside, Ca. Remember the scene when the two guys walk out on the pier with a roast on a big hook? The shark takes the bait and pulls one of the guys in, along with half the pier, then circles around to eat the fisherman who is frantically swimming back, while his buddy urges him on. He gets back to the broken pier and he's clawing his way up the incline, desperately trying to get his feet out of the water and avoid being eaten.
While this scene was on-screen, I looked up and down at the people in my row of seats. Every one of them were pulling their feet off the floor, like they were peddling a bicycle. One of the funniest things I've ever seen -

The problem with still-head-in-the-clouds witnesses like this guy is that they don't understand the real problem. It's not so much about the kids that have been molested, or the people who have died from lack of a blood transfusion, as sad as that is. It's about the hundred of thousands...perhaps millions...of lives the WTBTS has fucked up. The good decent folks who have been strangled and choked by their rigid rules and regulations, their practice of shunning and their deceitful teachings. This guy's 2nd post on the board was, in essence, to tell us we're all a bunch of crybabies. He's a piece of shit in my book

I'm curious as to why anyone would feel the need to respond to a Dirt Bag like this. Let him have his say and be on his way. None of us needs to defend the way we've been treated or the way we feel. Comments like his are below us all.

Sending letters to all JWs I know.....
by Lilycurly inafter thinking a lot about it, i just felt i had to at least try something to make the local jws open their eyes.
i know it is most unlikely that any of them will even consider reading all of what i will send, but here's the plan:.
i've got a list of all their addresses (that i kept from before).

Lily, I have nothing to contribute to this thread, other than to say that I really admire and respect your decision on this course of action.
Too many of us ex-JWs have been reactive rather than proactive when it comes to the Borg. I count myself among the reactive ones. Thanks to this forum and some of it's courageous members, I plan to rectify that in the future. -

Please advise.
by embalmed inafter years of waiting, i finally turned 18. i remember distinctly that my mother said during an argument that i would not have to attend meetings once i turned 18. well that was a lie.
she denied ever having said such, and pulled the "under my roof" card.
so now she is saying i have to continue attending meetings until i move out.

embalmed, best move you never made:
"I can't be disfellowshipped because I was never baptized"
Best of luck
