As we all know that is a radical change for the normally obedient Japanese.
They are openly defying the WBTS.
It must be a big worry for the GB.

sorry how long this is but i found the meeting very exciting.
the short version is i said directly that i do not believe in the wts, feel being d/f is unfair on my jw family so asked them to just leave me alone.
it didn't work.

Sorry you had to endure the pressures and the anxiety which were heaped upon you recently. You did well in standing up for your convictions.
Did not Jesus say: “They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.” (WEB)
The fact that they would not consent to have the meeting recorded indicts them. If they had nothing to hide and really wanted to help you as Christian shepherds, they would welcome transparency. However, since they are unwilling to come out in the open but keep those meetings wrapped in secrecy they admit that they are guilty of cover up and unscriptural conduct.
One day the Supreme Judge will turn the spotlight on everything that was kept secret and expose their unchristian ways, they will be made accountable for their actions; then there will be no place to either hide or exert control over the innocent. Departing from the Scriptures and sitting in judgement is a very serious matter they need to think about. 1 Cor 4:6. Rev. 22:18, 19. Gal 1:8, 9.

hi everyone.. i'm keen to read more books about jw's.
i've so far only read crisis of conscience but now have the appetite.i'd be more interested in the background of the organisation and what kind of people russell and rutherford were etc, but i'd also like to read any "apostate" exposes, especially ex elders.

What a loving, tender-hearted Christian you are. Your attitude is admirable.
Our Lord Jesus instructs us even to love our enemies. I like Blondie’s point: “Christ still loved the people who knew would soon as a group have him killed”. Feeling and expressing love will never hurt. Love and affection attracts, hate repels.
My dear wife and I can empathize with you. We understand that you “feel immense loss, immense sadness.” We too, after many decades in the organization had to detach ourselves from the system. We also made many wonderful, genuine friends, who even though we have faded are nonetheless affable to us. Some of our relatives are still deeply involved in the organization. Our gradual egress made it possible for us to tenderly plant seeds, with excellent results in some instances and may yet completely free some from the bondage of the WBTS. Confrontation rarely produces productive results. Though, each person must decide what is best for them.
Please do not feel like a hypocrite; you are not. By not being excessively confrontational you will be able to assist your friends more affectively and help them see what you are seeing. Our Lord Jesus was patient with his followers, so we too should understand that their mind has been blinded by the propaganda, consequently they are unable to absorb the enormity of the change required to come to the realization that they have been misled by the false shepherds.
By presenting to them the facts in small increments, as the occasion arises, you will be showing them love and kindness. We know, it is a terrible blow to discover that the individuals at the top whom we trusted implicitly have mislead us; the shock is too great for some to absorb, then they burrow in deeper into denial. Consequently the steady approach may bring better results. Patience is required.
I really love the way you are able to distinguish between the R & F and the perpetrators; the deceived and the deceivers, in the Watchtower system. Jesus had no respect for the Pharisees, pronouncing heavy judgements on them, but loved the deceived, the spiritually blinded.
May our God and our Lord Jesus give you, your husband and your family peace and wisdom as you embark on your new journey.

i have been studying with the jw for just over 3 years.i have always believed in god and the bible.
the path my life took ended up with me being a single parent of 4 children.. the jws led me down the path of the "truth".
my grandmother disowned me and i just couldnt understand why.i was told that satan was lurking round every corner trying to get me away from god.

At first, because of the shimmering daze of theocratic heat it is difficult to see everything in its precise perspective, but as you distance yourself from the propaganda, and get all the many jigsaw pieces together and place them in their respective positions, slowly a bright a beautiful picture emerges, and you begin to wonder “why was I so blind.”
After 60 years in the Watchtower system, my precious wife and I, predominantly with the aid of this forum and Ray Franz’s books: In Search of Christian Freedom and Crisis of Conscience, faded away from this association.
