I have no intention of sending the letter I just had to get it off my chest and I thought I'd do that in a place where people understand what it's like to be in this situation. If I sent the letter I would be ending all communication with my family but it get's harder and harder to keep my mouth shut and just continue to take the preaching even if he's doing it out of love. I started my fade approx 8-10 years ago and I am glad there are websites like these to help work through feeling and situations. I have been a lurker for quite awhile and that alone has been a great help. Thank You.

by puppet inthank you for letting me post this un-sent letter to my father.
i am writing this to voice my opinion; this is not open for discussion.
i find if upsetting that you feel its appropriate to invite my husband into your home and demean the religion he was brought up in, not only have you done that in your home but youve also done it in his home.

I find if upsetting that you feel it’s appropriate to invite my husband into your home and demean the religion he was brought up in, not only have you done that in your home but you’ve also done it in his home. I understand that you justify it because you feel yours is the only right religion, but I want to bring to your attention that was also the thought process behind the men who flew planes into the twin towers on 9/11.
You found it perfectly acceptable to bring to his attention the amount of money the Catholic Church has but when I brought to your attention that the Jehovah’s Witness organization is also very wealthy your response was a sharply defensive “no they are not, who told you that”. I’ll tell you who, you told me that, you told me the Watchtower Society owns each Kingdom Hall and each local congregation purchases property and builds their hall with local funds by obtaining loans from the Society. Think about it that’s a pretty sweet deal for the Society if you ask me.
No I didn’t miss the evil eye you gave me right before we left, but this time you will not intimidate and bully me into submission. What makes you think you can voice your opinion and it must be readily accepted, never mind I know it’s 50+ years in a self-absorbed, self-righteous organization. I find it appalling, disturbing, and disgusting that I could possibly loose all contact and relationship with my family by simply disagreeing with their views on religion.

When you pay into social security out of your paycheck your employer also pays into social security a matching amount for your benefit. What?s going to happen to that matching employer?s portion, most likely back into the pockets of big corporations and their shareholders. Sounds to me like King George and the Dick are taking care of their friends the elitist under the disguise of looking out for the little guy.
