As a trial download I selected the Aug 21, 1940, Consolation. As a result, I confirmed that it (and, I assume the rest) are not text-searchable -- my original goal.

a recent thread mentions the following link to download the above-mentioned publications.
at 530 mb size, that is a sizeable download on my slow connection.
i'd like to do it but only if the documents are text-searchable.. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4215561/watchtower_periodic_%28golden_age__consolation__kingdom_news.

i expect a major confrontation with my mum in the near future regarding my non-association with jws.. i plan to discuss my unwillingness to associate based on 'things i have discovered' about the org.
i would like to prepare in advance for a lengthy argument and for this purpose i would like to compile a list of issues.. however, i want to discuss using only jw publications.
mum has the wt library (2003) and some books but not the rare or uncommon ones.
Ooops! I should have said 6 different positions, not 10. Sorry about that. Here's a link to that excellent chart.

I had in mind their 10 different positions on their teaching of the 1,260 years. You'll find that chart toward the end of the following thread.

Hi MisFitMel,
As to a list, I suggest staying away from doctrine interpretations. They are subjective, as in "subject to interpretation", and JW's think their interpretation is always the only one.
Stick to objective items that you can nail down. From WT pubs it's easy to prove that they are against lies. So use their own pubs to prove that they have lied in the past. Here is a letter which uses their own lies as its basis.

From WT pubs it's easy to prove that they are against contradictions of teachings. Here is an essay (kind of large to load) that uses WT pubs to illustrate many of their teaching flip-flops. For example, they've taught 6 flip-flops on the resurrection of the Sodomites. That's yes, no, yes, no, yes, no.

And don't forget the latest generation change teaching. A chart shows that they've taught 10 different positions on this matter. Can they honestly say that the Holy Spirit has directed them through this mess of zig-zags? One of their recent positions even reverts to the same one held some 81 years earlier.

i've been reading this forum a for some time now.
since i find myself on a crossroad i decided to start participating.
i was at gilead in 1980 and remember standing in de elevator alone with ray franz, how just gave us a lecture.
Keep reading the forum theres a thread that even has a letter to write to the Elders so they cant not Disfellowship you or give any public announcements. CyberJesus
Hmmm ... please give us a link to that letter. I've seen a few of these before but in the end they simply don't work as the elders / Society are relentless. I hope you can prove there is one that works.
And to you, Not Sure Yet -- I wish you the very best. You've already taken one of the best giant steps you can by sharing your experiences.
Len Miller
honestly, i can't remember if i told some of this already, so if i repeat myself, please allow me this.
i am practicing for old age..... it is now 6 years since i got the "long form" application for gilead, with over 120 questions to answer.
5 years since i got my notice that we were selected to attend the 119th class of gilead from april-september 2005.. prior to this, i really wanted to be a co. i won't belabor the point about my ex jw wife wanting to go overseas, but suffice to say, her goal won out over my goal.
Hi Jeff,
You write extremely well and most lurkers should be impressed -- hopefully, rattled in thinking for themselves. It's been 33 years since I outed myself but still remember the aspirations I could only fantasize about since I had wife and 4 kids -- Bethel, Gilead -- the epitomes of Borg success.
Len
hi, first post after a couple of years of lurking!.
firstly i am not a jw, never have been and never will be!
however i married in to the mob!
I'm with Dissed, Bulgogiboy. Fact is, you just broke the 2 topmost rules of this forum and your posting should be censored.

wt question from readers wt 11/15/2011.
is it proper to use the term "iam 3rd generation witness" in the light of the new understnding of the term "generation"?.
no, it is unscriptural now.
Hi Albert,
I've been the black sheep for some 33 years having DA'd as an elder. In hindsight, based on experiences from this forum, I would have done my darndest to stick it out and work as an insider.

Very funny, Einstein.
Kidding aside, here is a chain of actual generations in my indirect family.
Hattie Bridgman (deceased), Raymond Bridgman (deceased), Allen Bridgman, Crystal Bridgman Miller (daughter-in-law), followed by 3 children (my grandchildren whom I've never met -- thanks to shunning) -- the oldest two having been baptized.
That's 5 generations if you're counting. I think Hattie became involved in the early 1930's, Marshalltown, Iowa.
Based on that, I wouldn't be surprised if there are 6th or 7th generation Witnesses.
Yes, that overlapping spin is one of most egregious interpretations the GB has ever come up with.

can someone please link me to the generantion chart i'ver heard so much about.
i did a search but didn't come up with it.
had a conversation with a pioneer who is still quoting millions now living will never die.
