Christian group claims Armagedon on Friday 21st October....don't plan your weekend!!

harold camping's religious group claimed armagedon was coming in may 21st 2011...he said he was "flabbergasted" it didn't happen and said that it was a "spritual judgement day" and the end would occur on october 21st 2011......so i will see you all in hell.

Are only women signing up for Jah's army?

this morning as i was out doing my morning run, i noticed 3 vans drive by and park on a small connecting street near my home.

out of the three vans came 14 jw's out for their morning field service.

all but two of the 14 were women and one of the guys was probably around 14 or 15. the other guy looked to be in his 40's.

Ahh as expected by me and some of you here, no one showed. No one came to "correct" my misunderstandings and let me know what the "truth was." I waited Saturday and Sunday and no one came.

Maybe Jehovah has already assigned me to the goat pen.

hi, peeplezs,.

down over the years i have experienced plenty of discouragement and cynicism about faith and the existence of a god who cares for us.

if i allowed myself to dwell on those things alone, i suppose that i too would be feeling hopeless and cynical and would be just waiting until my time is up.. however, i don't feel that way at all.

Actually a pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to pre-pubecensent children. This word is often mis-used to mean anyone under the age of consent which is 18 is most places.

My mom had just turned 17 when she married my dad who was 19. I recently saw a very interesting documentary on the times of Jesus, and they said that Mary was likely 12 - 14 yeays of age when she gave birth to Jesus.

Do you tell people?

as an ex-jw do you tell people about your jw past?

how much detail do you go into when you tell non-jw's about the organization.

i usually only ever say anything if somebody asks about my religious affiliation or mentions jw's.

I didn't at first, but in time I started telling folks about my days as a Witness. Many folks seem fascinated to hear about the inner workings of a religion they know little to nothing about. Most just seem to know about the blood issue and the not celbrating holidays. They are quite shocked to know what a controling group the Society is and I am sure I have innoculated several people from even considering to look into this religion.
