  I had already left the organization (Sept 1992) when the change occured in 1995. While it was not the reason I left, it definitely added one more nail in the Watchtowers coffin for me. I had actually "prophesied" to the elders during my exit interview in 1992 by stating that in 3 to 4 years the Society would have to receive new light regarding the last generation teaching. All three of them denied it and kept drilling into me that I was being foolish by leaving Gods organization at such a late hour in the stream of time.

  Sure enough in 1995 they had to "adjust" their thinking and I was proven to be a "prophet."

  televangelist pat robertson on monday explained to his viewers that sophisticated americans received less miracles because they had learned things that says god isnt real like evolution.. on mondays episode of cbns the 700 club, robertson responded to a viewer who wanted to know why amazing miracles (people raised from the dead, blind eyes open, lame people walking) happen with great frequency in places like africa, and not here in the usa?.

  My Encounter with a JW couple this Morning

  i was shopping with nugget in sainsburys and i saw them in the bread aisle.

  a couple in their late 70's / early 80's who really i do have an affection for.

  he was an ms when i left, not sure if he still is, and she was just a very genuine person with decades of "faithful service" to the cult.. when i was a newly appointed elder, their grand-daughter had accused her step-father of sexual abuse, he was eventually df'd but has since my leaving been reinstated.

  What I see in this and similar other earlier threads is that people will look at a current situation and find a way to fit God in it as if he had a hand in what happened or is currently happening. Since leaving the Society 20 years ago, everything I have experienced can be laid at the fott of random chance.

  Sometimes good things happen and sometimes bad things happen. Sometimes those things occured as a direct or indirect result of your own actions and sometimes it just happens.

  If there was an all knowing God, it would know that there are more efficient ways to communicate its will than via old texts and personal anecdotal revelations. I have yet to come across anything that proves to me that the God(s) in the Bible has any more credibility than the thousands of other gods created by man.
