I am confused. How is this new? This sounds like the same stuff they have always said?

Interesting new paragraph from the OD book
by ezekiel3 inchapter 17 of the new organized to do jehovah's will is basically the revamped chapter from the previous edition.. .
the name of the chapter has changed from "enduring with life in view" to "stay close to jehovah's organization.
" in addition three paragraphs on pages 170-171 are completly new to this chapter which basically follow the jw doctrine of the trinity: obey god, jesus and the organization.. .

Disassociation = Disfellowshipment = The Final Insult (A Proposal)
by slimboyfat ini try to keep up with discussion on this forum, but i missed the threads about the new policy on the announcement of disfellowshipping and disassociation.
so excuse me if i am covering old ground.
the new "organized to do jehovah's will" book stated that in future announcements of disfellowshipping and disassociation would follow the same formulation: "****** ****** is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".

I don't need a topic all about me. I just wanted to share with everyone in the discussions! I'm also very interested in seeing if there is new stuff to know since I stopped associating. This topic caught my eye

thank you.
Well since I haven't been to meetings in a couple of years, I have not read about this new stuff. Maybe in a way it would make it easier to come out of the closet to no longer wanting to be a Jehovah's Witness.

what to say to when someone says happy bday?
by tsunami_rid3r inwhenever people tell me happy birthday tomorrow what do i say?
and the girl i took to prom well im still having some feelings for her and we seem to be getting along good.
id like to hang out with her because shes fun, but she has a bf now.
-

I agree that saying thank you is a nice thing to respond about your birthday.
I don't understand about the girl. It sounds like you have feelings for her, but she has a boyfriend. She will probably plan to go to the movie with him. If she goes with a group of friends, maybe you can ask to join them though

about ten years ago I had headaches. They started and wouldn't go away. Eventually I even started having blackouts in my left eye. I went through all kinds of tests and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then my dr asked what I do. I said I worked in the Deans office for the University typing work for the Dean and the Dean's assistant on a computer but I have been on a computer for years I told him. That can't be the issue. He said, well you never know. He put a pencil on the table and tipped the table every so much. Very slowly the pencil rolled off the table. He said life can be like that. Until the pencil actually fell off the ledge, all seemed ok, but eventually there was a reaction. He said, try something different with your computer set up.
So, my ex husband built me a stand for my monitor to raise it up at work, and a miracle happened. It all went away. Evidentally something was putting pressure on my neck and then a nerve because of the angle I was looking at my computer at work all day.
It might not have anything to do with your headaches, but I sure was surprised that it had anything to do with mine.

Playing games at a wedding shower - is it wrong?
by Bonnie_Clyde inmy daughter-in-law recently gave a very nice baby shower for her cousin.
the next day at the meeting she was called into the library and counselled for playing games.
i asked her what the basis was.

I always thought being disassociated received the same punishment as being disfellowshiped, including the shunning

What did they all do on "worldly holidays" when you were home alone?
by LongHairGal ini always hated being alone on thanksgiving or christmas.
what bothered me was that if it were known you accepted an invitation by relatives it was frowned upon.
but what got to me was this: is god more pleased that i am home looking at four walls alone rather than being over somebody's house??

I remember I saw my father who was never a witness on father's day once. I didn't realize it even was father's day. But when I told a sister in the congregation, she gasped, that I had seen my worldy father on father's day. She told me to go turn msyelf in to the elders. I didn't though

I feel like a leper
by Wild_Thing ini certainly have had my share of jw stupidity for the day ... and of my family's stupidity today.
two things happened ... both completely unrelated.
as a little background, i "faded" from the witnesses almost five years ago.

Yeah, my mom is like that. Both my sister and I are no longer Jehovahs Witnesses any more and she has seen us and stuff, but like she ran into us at a mall once, the whole time she sat there, looking around to make sure know one saw her. as if she would be ashamed to be caught by other witnesses associationg with us. I think the love for the child and desire to do something with us, but yet the fear of other witnesses seeing us with her frightens here. Although my sister is disfellowshipped, I am not. But she knows I no longer do anything about being a witness, as does everyone else.
I'm sorry that your mom took this stand with you, even though you were doing a loving thing
