Sound like some good materials to pick up and read. I have Crisis of Consciences but I haven't read any of the others mentioned here.

-combatting cult mind control.

I guess there were fleeting moments when I enjoyed them. Mostly if I had studied and prepared thoroughly. Usuaully though it was the opposite. I was relieved when they were done.

It has been bitter sweet for me. On one hand I am happier, being free from rules that say who I can have for friends, what I can do with them, etc, However, because I was a witness all my life, the majority of my friends were witnesses and so when I stopped associating, very quickly I lost nearly all of my friends. So I went from a some what social butterfly to a bit of a loner until I could rebuild friends outside the kingdom hall. I am still working on it, but it is easier now than it was when I first lost my old friends

Good thoughts
by talesin in.
15 things you probably never knew or thought about 1. at least 5 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.. 2. at least 15 people in this world love you in some way.. 3. the only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.. 4. a smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.. 5. every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.. 6. you mean the world to someone.. 7. if not for you, someone may not be living.. 8. you are special and unique.. 9. someone that you don't even know exists loves you.. 10. when you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.. 11. when you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.. 12. when you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it.. 13. always remember the compliments you received.
forget about the rude remarks.. 14. always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.. 15. if you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.

What an interesting feeling!
by cruzanheart inabout a month or two ago, i spent a week feeling incredibly sad.
i cried at the drop of a hat and was very, very sad -- about what i didn't know.
(and, no, it wasn't "that" time of the month.

Playing games at a wedding shower - is it wrong?
by Bonnie_Clyde inmy daughter-in-law recently gave a very nice baby shower for her cousin.
the next day at the meeting she was called into the library and counselled for playing games.
i asked her what the basis was.

I was always afraid if I didn't cross my legs, I wouldn't sit lady like enough and someone could look up my skirt. I hated that clothes pin game.
However, I won it several times.

What's the last good fantasy or scifi book that you could'nt put down?
by Leander inso what's the last fantasy/scifi book that you read that was just so good you could'nt put it down until you were done reading it?
i need a few recommendations, i'm in the mood for a good book.. for me the last really good scifi book was orson scott card's "ender's game".
for a long time i avoided this book because i thought it was aimed at a younger audience, but after hearing so many people praise it i finally took a chance on it.

The last Sci Fi/Fantasy book I read was Timemachine. As a book it was excellent. I was very disapointed in the movie however.

What did they all do on "worldly holidays" when you were home alone?
by LongHairGal ini always hated being alone on thanksgiving or christmas.
what bothered me was that if it were known you accepted an invitation by relatives it was frowned upon.
but what got to me was this: is god more pleased that i am home looking at four walls alone rather than being over somebody's house??
