  As A JW, Did You Ever Really Love Jesus?

  it was always about "jehovah god".

  jesus was mentioned but he was always in the background.

  many religions boast of loving jesus.

  I loved Jesus. I used to think about the sacrifice and pain he went through. I remember in a talk once a DO talking about him sweating blood, that was how intense his suffering was.. and I couldn't help but think about that. How can you not love someone who gave so much

  Platonic Friendships....

  there are some conflicting views on this subject; when i was a teenage jw i was friends with someone of the opposite sex and we were the best of mates...nothing sexual, no attraction in that department at all but it was frowned upon by those in the congregation (as you can probably imagine).. my ex wife never believed a man and woman could be just platonic...hence no longer with her...but..now being somewhat older (and a teeny bit wiser .

  what do you think though, do you think a man and woman can be just friends and more importantly has this view been changed since leaving the jw's?.

  I actually had several male friends while I was a witness. We were as close as my real life brother (maybe closer) and spent time even alone together.

  However, any platonic friends that ended when I stopped being a witness male and female (those who were witnesses that is).

  Now I am rebuilding friends and I once again have both male and female friends. Although my morals have changed a little. Some of those friends have become friends with benefits.

  God Loves You

  i just got word from my family that my grandmother died at 5am this morning.

  it was her wish to see me once more before she died, i have a flight to see her at 10am tomorrow morning.

  it was the only thing i could have hoped to do for her before she died, and it couldnt happen.

  memories are also for later.. after they have been married 20 yrs and have kids of their own and will giggle about what you did.. and ponder repeating it for your grandchildren..

  i've heard a lot on this subject, and was wondering if it's a common practice?.

  can you go to a meeting and almost always see some poor kid getting a walloping in the back room for talking or misbehaving at the meeting?

  or is this a thing of the past?.

  its a no win situation when you are a witness. If you take your child back to be disciplined, (I never disciplined too hard, although my exhusband did in my mind), people are upset. If you don't, people are upset.

  Children are naturally going to have problems sitting still that long young and being quiet. There is so much pressure on parents to make your children behave so that others wont' be distubed for the meetings

  update in the life of me

  ok its a "my hair is too long" issue again.

  i have the choice of attending all meetings until college if i just keep my hair combed and packed down so it looks short.

  my dad will pay all the bills i have and i can keep/save all the money i make until college.

  its up to you. Do you need the money and can you stomach all the meetings, etc?

  Can you afford not to be bribed?
