Yes, I seemed to be...
Sisters would seem down and out of sorts and I would give them a hug,
take them out to lunch and then they seemed to just pour out their hearts...
I cared, I really did.
After awhile tho...it got to the point that I was just "Burned Out" on it. I know
that may sound callous but, Gee...Where were they when I needed to talk..???????????
It never seemed to work both ways in My congregation. Thankfully after being away for about
10 years I have regained my compassion for people...hurts deeply sometimes, esp. times when
all you can do is just be There.

I met Jamie Oliver!!!
by tall penguin ini work in a large bookstore in toronto.
this past thursday, jamie oliver came to promote his new book.
i got to work the "green room" and hang out with him before he went onstage.

My Daughter's Senior Class went to New York last spring for their Senior Trip. They got to see
the Blue Man Group While they were there...

The Group also came out into the audience and talked with the School kids. My Daughter got a KISS on the Cheek, which of coarse was Blue.........she didn't want to ever wipe it off...lol

Missing friends
by purplesofa inover the years i have made many friends online that are jw's.
when my doubts were such with the organization that i was full on posting here, little by little i withdrew from my jw friends online and in person.
no explanation, i have not responded to emails over time, and just let those friendships die down.. out of respect.......i felt sneaky in my researching the organization and just was not sure where my thoughts and feelings were going to land.. today, i unblocked someone on my messenger to chat with them.

I too know what you are saying and feeling, like you and others here, I
miss my friends terribly sometimes.
We would get together every Friday night and go out to eat or a movie,
as regular as clock work. Other times several of us would pile in a van
and go Shopping etc.
This didn't stop gradually... just instantly. I am not DA'd or DF'd... I just
walked away. I did reach out to them and would only get one word ans.
back in e-mails. No explantion, just gone.
Yeah it hurts... I think of them often.
If you feel what you need to do is contact them, by all means try. At least
you'll know you gave it a shot.
I hurt for you too, as do all your friends here at JWD... you mean so much
to everyone here..........

My Daughter
by mrsjones5 inyesterday afternoon i took my daughter to a beauty school to get her first perm.
she has been wanting one for a while and i've been resistant until just recently after taking her to a school ice skating party and viewing her classmates...it was time to do this.
i watched her sit in that chair the whole time, watching her go through the process, she enjoyed the whole thing.
