my wife is involved with jws, and i want to find out what they believe, things they do or will not do, that i can present to her in the hope that it will convince her that the jw lifestyle is not for her.

i found out a few things already, like blood and yoga which i told her about, but she was unphased.

("i've never needed a transfusion before anyway, and besides, they told me that doctors have blood substitute now".

I can't imagine that going down too well in Britain, although that might have something to do with the fact that British people are generally more reserved and prudish anyway.

Something I could never get to grips with is why on earth sisters can't wear trousers to the kingdom hall, when I asked I was told it was because in the olden days only lesbians wore trousers, ridiculous, wish I'd been brought up in Belgium.

UFOs - secret military projects from planet EARTH?!?!

just finished watching this discovery program, that makes convincing case that ufo are nothing but very advanced military projects that have been going on for years.

in fact, it all started in nazi germany, and the company that was commissioned to produce them was none other than skoda , car company from czechoslovakia.

interesting indeed.

As long as you are comfortable in your rebellion, not doing stuff that you don't believe is right for you just to spite other people then there isn't a problem with it.

why do some parents make hair cuts a big issue and some dont?

now my dad wants me to get my hair cut.

Funny that you should come up with this topic today, I went out this morning and bought some curling tongs to curl my daughter's hair, she is only 2 and a half so I'm feeling a little bit wierd about it, feel like I might be doing the wrong thing and teaching her to be vain.

Any ideas?

Naughty children

i heared something the other day that made me sick.. apparentely its been brought out in a talk recently that children are becoming more and more imperfect due to us being right at the end of the system.. i was told that the witnesses are saying that this generation of kids being born have a natural bad streak that makes them so willfull and disobedient.. i don't know what they are saying should be done about it but i imagine they are probably encouraging harsher discipline.. the mind boggles!

Trevor, the impression I got when being told about this was that they were talking about little children, toddlers, and I don't think for a second that children this young are any more disobedient than they were 5, 10 or 20 years ago.

Yes, there is more stuff out there to influence the older child / teenager into delinquency than there used to be but as for little kiddies, I just think it is disgusting to say they have wicked streaks given to them by the devil.

They are just kids for goodness sake, let them run around and play and let them throw tantrums if they want because at the end of the day this is just the normal way for a healthy child to behave.

who of us can be sure if he did abuse kids or not?

how can anyone say he is guilty or innocent (except a victim if there is one)?

I wouldn't like to say one way or the other whether he abused kids or not, but I don't agree with what Jeffro said.

He is a grown man and it doesn't matter whether the childs parents or the child themselves asked to share his bed, he should no way be in the same bed as someone elses child, thats just asking for trouble.

when i was growing up as a jw i had (as most others) a masturbation 'problem'.. the broblem more was that i felt guilty, and not happy.

this caused my concience to grow very weak.

because of this repressed desires etc, i would have done anything for a woman.

My relationship has come to an end because of JW brainwashing

a few of you may remember when i came to this site back in sept. i was seeking advice about my bf who had been studying with jw.

well i hate to say it but they won.

after being together almost 2yrs we broke up.

I'm really sorry to hear this, please don't blame yourself, Jehovahs witnesses are experts at slyly taking over peoples lives and turning them against the people they love and I'm afraid you are just another innocent victim, but hopefuly with a bit of luck he will miss you when you're not around and come to his senses.

Either way, look on the bright side, atleast you got away.
