  i don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but i just saw an item indicating that silent lambs has joined the hurricane relief effort.

  but i noticed it was headlined "silent lambs jehovah's witnesses hurricane relief effort.

  " no doubt this is why the orlando based jehovah's witnesses have issued a scam alert at http://www.jw-aid.com of course, they don't think it a scam to ask for donations earmarked for their worldwide work that will benefit first and foremost jehovah's witnesses and precious few others.

  I have been hearing that since i was born JW in 1957

  Get this....in fall of 1979 the pump price of gas spiked to $1.85 gal i was pioneering in rural Wilmot Flat New Hampshire usa with my two ton 1969 pontiac catalina with an 8 cylinder and 4 barral carb it got 12 MPG

  Adjusted for inflation that was equal to $4.00 gal.

  In the early 1970's we in the USA had 12-15% annual Inflation right around the time Nixon resigned as president,every time you went to the market it cost more for a loaf of bread.

  That was PRE 1975 and the j-dubs really latched on to this same prophecy.

  Yes.the more things change the more they stay the same...

  What you can do now.
  
  Jehovah’s Witnesses at silentlambs.org wish to help in this regard, for the month of September half of all donations sent to silentlambs will be forwarded to the American Red Cross for relief work in the disaster stricken area.
  
  The recent hurricane in the Gulf coast area has been a story that seems unbelievably devastating in its proportions.
  
  Hundreds of thousands of people are affected and going through untold suffering. News reports have asked that individuals stay away from the area at present to prevent further chaos.
  
  
  As individuals there is something we can do and that is, send money to directly benefit those that are assisting people in need.
  
  Silentlambs is a 501-C3 non-profit organization all your donations are tax deductible.
  
  Each Monday we will publish on the website the total amount of funds raised and then forward the donation. If you have another specific charity you would like to look for see this link:

There may be a contribution box at your local Kingdom Hall set aside for this purpose. If you are outside the United States, please follow the directions from your local branch.

  Otherwise, send cash donations to the branch office, where a relief fund is set aside for this purpose. The address is Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, c/o Office of the Secretary and Treasurer, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483. Make checks payable to "Watch Tower ." (See km 7/00 p. 3 and km 11/04 p. 3)

  Beware of fraudulent schemes to solicit money for our brothers under the guise of assisting victims of disasters. We will be glad to post scam warnings on the website. (See km 2/02 p. 7)

Most of them are hostile to our cause and/or simply channel the money to other relief organizations.
