I was 10 when i met one of the anointed. He was VERY old. So old that the PO told me that even HE might have forgotten how old he was. Anyway, he was really nice.

Mormons/LDS
by Evanescence inwhat would your views be on mormons?.
was there much incidences where jw's and mormons would ever catch eachother while going door-to-door?.
just curious cause both of you do it and wondered if there was ever any conflict between the two..... evanescence

The thing that turned me off the most about the mormons was their belief that all non-whites went to lower levels of Heaven when they died.
I dont know if they stick to the belief now, but one time is always enough for me.

Average JW's age?

i have a friend who is a devout jw and he invited me to the memorial this year.
one thing that interested me is that there were perhaps 10 guys and girls under 30. my friend mentioned to me that most kids leave the org when they're around 18. he's 23, and still lives with his parents.

Most of the guys I grew up with left the orgo or went to different congregations. My congregation consists mainly of 50+ year old women.
I havent actually convinced myself to leave yet, but by the time i turn 20, i think the snowball might be big enough.

They are giving my kids notebooks for the special assembly. Why?
by Check_Your_Premises innow if they were only giving them to my children, i would raise cain, because it is an obvious attempt to imply that they have to provide what i am not.
it is also an influence ploy, in that by giving them a gift, it obligates them to use the gift.. but they gave them to all the kids and everyone at the book study.
the sweet part was that i actually showed up.

Its not an official WTBS thing. Actual witnesses post the schedule books on their sites and witnesses who find them make bound notebooks with them. Each page has the time and title of the talk. And a whole page of lines to take notes. I dont think it was anything personally, most of the time the sisters only make a certain amount of copies and give them out to the first people they see. The theocratic ministry school notebook, which has all the talks and info from the schedule is the one that no one can really find. Everyone is pretty hush hush about it.

Do Must Dubs Have Pre-Marital Sex?
by tall penguin init's not often talked about but in my experience a lot of witnesses have sex (or something like it) during their courtship.
and most of them never go to the elders about it.
recent case in point: my dear friend got married this past summer.

Ok, i know i'll probably be flamed for this but if you guys know me, i'm kind of a fence straddler.But when i asked an elder about the whole matter of disfellowshipping. He told me: "Well people dont get disfellowshipped for having sex, doing drugs, smoking, posting on apostate websites . That fact has been already been established, thats not the question. People are disfellowshipped because they arent repentant for what they have done".
Ok, so say that i'm disfellowshipped for "associating" with you guys (which i'm not even sure that they can do). Do i really have the right to act bitter and inflamed cause seriously i already knew the risked involved before i started coming here. So cant the same be applied someone who is having sex and has to be caught or "witnessed in" before the elders know about it?

A few stories here and there doesnt mean everyone is screwing, lol.

One thing you can be sure of. This JW is not an elder. And mostly likely not even a MS or pioneer.I wouldnt be surprised if he's inactive or not a witness at all. If he "wins" this will probably be used as an example of a person using their knowledge to destroy the trinity doctrine, and if he "loses" everyone will just say that he wasnt authorized and therefore cannot reflect the orgo as a whole. Kind of like espionage
