i am looking for a creative or a usaul way to get my turn at being disfellowshipped.

i was a witness that married a 'worldly' guy.

so, basically i can do anything i want and not get disfellowshipped.

How Were You Affected By Elder/Ministerial Servants/Pioneer Appointments?

were you ever affected by seeing a man or even a teenager being made a ministerial servant or a young man being appointed an elder-----knowing that the person is not really qualified?

you could be thinking, "i can't believe he gets to be an elder when my husband (or brother or father or friend) is doing everything but headstands for the elders!

" when such appointments were made did you see to it that you would not go to that person for direction or counsel?

Around 2004, i was around 17/18, they actively pursued trying to make me a MS, i really tried but all the CO had to see was that i was in college and the subject was never mentioned again. o well :-D

what are JW doing about the cover-up of child abuse?

i know that paedophiles, child abusers was rampant within the jw.

i too know of a brother that was a molester and it was covered up.

he is now disfellowshipped, but only after the whole cover-up issues came to light and was publicised.

How do I get this person off my back??

after years of silence (and hence peace) someone from my jw days has decided to track me down in the hopes of "catching up.

" now she knows where my new house is, and more than likely my phone number as well (makes me grateful for caller id.

) this jw did something to me when i was in high school that i will never, ever forgive her for; what's more, i don't even like her as a person - she's overbearing, egotistical and can be smothering at times.

I usually dont answer the phone when people harass me.

You can also just tell her straight up how you feel. Thats always good.

What comment will you make at the New Light Watchtower Study this weekend

gbsjg just made a comment that the watchtower will feature the article on 'new light' this weekend.

what a perfect opportunity for a visiting brother to a congregation (or incognito apostate) to answer with some honest and thought provoking comments.

"i find it interesting that the watchtower criticises some religions for not changing their old doctrines and creeds, and other religions that do progressively change them for having had them wrong in the first place, and yet we seem to be doing the same ourselves.".

I agree, i was going over the article with my brother last week and i told him that the single most important change in the 90's was the generation change in 1995 and if i'm correct it was not mentioned in the article. Also, they did not mention the new view on dissociated ones in 1982. They focused on changes such as the view of some miniscule prophecy of ezekial and "greater authority". I'm pretty sure that this article is gearing the RF for something big though.

... that i've noticed, generated by wbts, include that:.

- everybody's living room has a view to the distant snow-capped mountains, uninhibited by the neighbour's ugly tudor that he knocked together at least forty five millennia ago and wouldn't you think he'd have painted the gables by now?.

- they all visit their friends walking over the unfenced meadows carrying baskets of fruit.

I was told that you could still die if you fell off a cliff, drowned. etc.

I'm sorry if i sound like an apolegetic :-P, but my favorite talk was this old guy that was saying things like all the countries names, the days and months of the year would all be changed so as not to remind us of the past and because days and months were named after roman god's.

He went on to talk about all this other crap that was possible and for a few seconds i was actually there you know. Its really sad when people base their lives on a pipe dream.
