Hi Nemo welcome to the forum!!
It took me years to fade and almost 10 years before I was able to feel guilt free. I still to this day question myself at times!

i am trying to fade slowly, but am finding this increasingly difficult.
i can't sit through a meeting, i had to leave at the 1/2 the other day, because of my recent enlightenment, the hypocrisy is to much for me to take.
as i left you could see the looks on people faces, "oh she's just not spritual enough".

hi folks!
i realize that the subject that i've chosen here can indeed arouse the emotions, but i believe that most here have control of their emotions and can therefore be reasonable while discussing this topic.
some of you believe in god and the bible, and some of you don't; but, whatever your station in life is i'm sure that you won't mind expressing your personal opinion.

A question for you. Since Hitler was killing ?Gods chosen people?, those soldiers like Yeru who stepped in to stop it were they killing in Gods name or mans?

Cassi,
IMO all death is sensless no matter if its by Gods command or mans.
You should be addressing that remark to Yeru, instead of me. Afterall, it's him who wears the military uniform. Do you know how to spell P-R-E-J-U-D-I-C-E ?
Schizm
Did I not say that all death is senseless? When you realize where I live and what I do for a living you may say my morals are skewed as well. But Yeru and I are sister and brother of sorts?that?s the way I see it. He is a military man?I counsel military/civilian personnel. I live on a military base all in all I live a military lifestyle. I do not agree with everything Yeru says or does as I know we have gone rounds in the past?this I can tell you he is a man of conviction and that I respect him for.
He is willing to die for his country/beliefs ( and countless other countries as well, die to assure people like Hitler could not continue his killing spree) giving up his life for his countrymen?that I respect him for. I hate war, it IMO, is senseless just as God killing babies is senseless act. This killing has been going on for thousands of years?what have we learned? Has Gods ?lessons? changed anything?
Your argument makes no sense IMO because you try to justify killing ordered by God; brutal acts of violence commanded by a God who tries to teach his children lessons. Remember the bible says we were made in Gods image. Therefore our actions will reflect that of our maker. He taught us killing was ok to teach lessons, as his children we have learned killing is ok.
Just my .02 cents.

No, my premise is not stupid. I didn't use the wrong word! In addition to all the reports that one can read regarding this man's being a Marine, and the fact that he got killed while doing what he believed in, the fact that the following picture was displayed on a large screen in the Church also attests to my correct usage of the word "glorified".
Sooooooooo it is ok to kill babies, men, women and childeren in Gods name but not ok for anyone else who supossedly learned this thing called killing from God, eh?
You're argument makes no sense IMO.
Kill in the name of God but no one else right? IMO all death is sensless no matter if its by Gods command or mans.

may 10, 2004 honor for dr. king splits florida city, and faces reversal
by abby goodnough
It's 2004 and we're still fighting for respect," said Ms. Pickett, who was among about 20 protesters at Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Eighth Street on Thursday afternoon. "They've put out all these excuses about the process not followed, but it's racism, plain and simple."~~ Article
http://www.npr.org/display_pages/features/feature_1602178.html
Jan. 19, 2004 -- There are some 650 streets in the United States bearing the name Martin Luther King -- and more are added every year.
The contributions that people have made, other than the "Top 40" of the great American forefathers, are not in your face everyday. If we're not reminded, we will forget.~~GESPRO
Why the words black, white and racism must be mentioned every time someone disagrees? How many streets need to be named after this man? How many national holidays must be made for him?
He lives on in the 650 streets, high-byways, blvds, etc. not to mention the National Holiday, parks, receration areas, etc etc named for him, he will not be forgotten.
And those screaming he will be are trying to skew the matter at hand. I think racism is bellowed at times just to assure that people will be heard even though none exists at times.

He made his own choices in life. You guided him as far as you could. Do not lay blame at your feet for others choices.

Hey Mark
Your first link comes up with that.
Second pics come up just fine. Nice, but I wanted to see the ghost! lol

utterly disgusting.
those responsible should be lined against a wall and shot.
publicly.. i think that would win more hearts and minds than bombing cities and using gunships on civilian areas.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4855930/.
Before dismissing this thing as a few individuals (which is still being investigated), it would be in order to consider how Americans would feel & react if this same treatment (or something aimed at insulting our religion) happened to American POWs. If we're honest, we know that we'd feel similarly, imo.
It has happened. Anyone who believes is hasn?t are crazy. This entire affair stinks to high heaven. I?ve watched American soldiers bodies dragged nude down the street with foreigners urinating on them and so on.
War is just that an atrocity. We do not live in a perfect world. Who, tell me, writes the rules of war? Soldiers as a whole have feelings no mater what country they are from and those feeling will at times unfortunately drive their actions. Animal behavior included.
If one does not thinks that some, I said some people sign on the dotted line to retaliate for acts such as 9-11 and they slip through the cracks then we are not being honest with ourselves. There are stops in place to try and catch this but at times the system fails. Then there are those already in who believe they can make amends for past atrocities. Shit happens it?s wrong. NO ONE is perfect, WAR will never be perfect, people die and are dehumanized. War is not pretty, never has been never will be.
American soldiers were wrong their behavior is inexcusable. Thank god for the American soldier who came forward and tried to stop it.
British soldiers have committed the same acts.Thank god for the British soldier or citizen who came forward to stop it. If one believes this does not happen in war then they need to truly take a close look at all past wars. If we want to say those pictures are made up, ok then do so. Perhaps they were smarter and did not take pictures. Whatever. War is war, atrocities happen. No one is better than another when pulling the trigger to take another?s life.
I don?t care if you are British or American, purple or pink. This is life, until you have walked a mile in every other?s persons shoes please do not judge and make excuses for anyone?s behavior. These people will live with their actions and unfortunately as a result we have to as well. Americans will be seen as animals. The British who want to portray all Americans this way because of the actions of a few; no one will change their minds.
Just as those Americans who wish to judge those on their behaviors will do so. But I see no point in this tit for tat shit. War is war and no one is better at war and never will be, human emotion will not allow for it and it seems human emotion will not allow for those unfortunate humans who do not know how to control their feeling.
