a 14 year old can refuse a blood transfusion.
this is against the wishes of his parents.. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/6420ap_wa_jehovahs_witness_transfusion.html.
judge: 14-year-old jehovah's witness can refuse blood transfusionthe associated press.
Just heard about this--link on front page of MSNBC.com

BTW I think the judge got it right...as strongly as I believe the JW blood issue is bunk, I once would have preferred death to taking blood and you don't force someone to do so against their will. At the same time, I hope this will get as much bad press for the org. as possible--maybe if it scares away a few potential converts the boy's death will have helped others in some way.
it seems that every ex-jws now has so much rage at the wt society for the way they were treated and all of the scandals.
i was wondering though if an "apostate/ex-jws" found disagreement or scandal in their new church would they picket or get on the internet or get on tv warning people about the christian church?
i can answer that question with one word no.
I'm not the picketing type. As a witness I always got a kick out of the "apostates" picketing and making a scene. It actually strengthened my faith as a JW since it seemed to confirm the idea that JWs who left generally went nuts and became sorry shells of their former selves. I'll never forget the morons who came into the Memorial and when the wine was passed around they stood up, quoted a bible verse, took a swig then walked out front and blocked the driveway so the next congregation couldn't get into the parking lot. The last thing I remember was the cops showing up to arrest them. No, I think there are much more constructive methods. And as far as trusting what other churches say--the day I knew that JWs didn't have the "truth" was the day I knew that no religion did.
a year ago in my cong, an elder who must be hitler's love child, gets up and tells us how some brothers are planning a fancy dress party, a large social gathering.
sounds fun i though!
"brothers a sincere christian would not attend such a gathering, we are warning you not to go near it.
The mind of the Society-trained elder sees danger lurking everywhere, Satan is out to snare us, spiritual shipwreck awaits at every turn...LOOK OUT!!! You might think you're up for a little harmless entertainment, next thing you know...WHAMMO!...you're dry-humping sweet sister Suzy-Q on the floor behind the punchbowl. The safest place for christians to be is locked in their room, with no internet access, wearing a chastity belt and reading the Bible 24/7...ohhh but stay away from the Song of Solomon and certain suggestive parts of Leviticus and Deuteronomy.
we know there are a lot of "lurkers" here.
they might not have posted yet but they do check this site out.
would you like to express anything to them to help them in any way??
Not really. Let the lurkers lurk...let them read the posts and threads that they feel like and when they get comfortable, they will sign up and engage in the conversation. The last thing a JW needs is yet another person preaching at 'em...know what I mean?
greetings!.
i havent been on jwd in ages so i apologize if this topic has been mentioned already.. there's a new documentary on premiering on cinemax tonight that is on the family cult..i was wondering if anyone plans ot watch and will be interested in posting comments later.... hope all is well with everyone,.

I came across an article about a teen who grew up in the "Family" and spent the rest of the day googling info about the group on the web. Check out the Wiki page on them, as well as the video and audio recordings you can find around on various sites. Truly one of the most bizarre and fascinating stories you will ever hear. You would never believe such groups even existed unless you read the first-hand accounts.
lmao sorry but i dislike the evil president.
who does he think he is coming over to oz and expecting us to close down a city, put on hundreds of police and spend millions of dollars for his protection.
thousands of lifes have been lost because of this freak.
Does Washington have to shut down every time John Howard pays a visit?
Does John Howard have every nut on the planet out to kill him? Really, obssesive Bush-hatred is an interesting psychological phenomenon worthy of serious study.

Tennessee plane crash kills 5 ministers
Group was headed to meeting to discuss building a church
==============================================
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - A plane carrying five Jehovah's Witness ministers crashed in a remote area of eastern Tennessee, killing all aboard, officials said.
The crash, which happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, wasn't discovered until more than eight hours later, when another pilot spotted the wreckage.
Authorities had to clear a path Sunday to get to the crash site in the Cherokee National Forest on Holston Mountain. Five bodies were found, said Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes. One of the ministers was believed to be the pilot, he said.
The single-engine Beech Bonanza crashed after leaving the Elizabethton Municipal Airport, officials said. The aircraft had taken off from Hamblen County and landed in Elizabethton to pick up a passenger. It was destined for Virginia Highlands Airport near Abingdon, Va., about 40 miles from Elizabethton.
Robert Burpitt, an elder with the Woodland Heights congregation of Jehovah's Witness in Kingsport, said the ministers were all from East Tennessee and members of a regional building committee that makes decisions regarding Kingdom Hall building projects. The names of the ministers were not released.
He said the men were on their way to Abingdon Saturday morning to meet with congregation members to discuss building a new church.
"All of the congregations in this region are devastated by this news, and will continue to keep the families in their prayers," he said.

so i decided to do a little digital inspection of the place online.
I don't know if you'd be approached but there was a group of young pioneers from my KH who moved to Beijing under the guise of "teaching English" who were actually there to preach. I heard they were conducting a lot of Bible studies.
