Its highly disturbing that you would jump to the defense of somebody that would call everybody on this board "bitter and twisted" because they actively oppose this deadly religion.
I think he called some bitter and twisted that would say leave this cult. Anyway I thing some are certainly bitter. Twisted I would not sy, but let him defend what he said not me.
Lets get something straight, people have DIED because of the policies this "elder" defends. A few days ago, we learned that a former "bitter and twisted" "apostate" committed suicide because of the "loving provision" of disfellowshipping promoted by this cult. You are offended that I called a spade a spade? Sorry for you, but when people defend these policies I will fight them tooth and nail and stick up for my fellow "twisted and bitter" apostates. Shame on you. Silence is complicity.
I do not know if he defends their policies, or maybe only some. (let him answer that) That he posting here is some sign that he is at least in some ways thinking freely.
I just do not think it is good to start name calling if somebody does not have the 'right' opinion to you. If you want to attack him, do it on the things that he says, not start to name calling etc.
With name calling all things JW's think of apostates are confirmed, and they immediately go back to their organisation, without looking further. Most of us were in the same position as he was, before we left.

I'll stand by what I said. Billyboy's post was not nice towards those who frequent this board. He made the assumption that most here are df'd (that is not wholly true) and that most here were df'd for sexual reasons (again that is not wholly true). You may think he was nice Danny but I do not. Trying to slam most folks on the board while being a newbie is really not a nice thing to do no matter what the motives.
Josie
Well, that is okay.
I don't really see it as slamming, bit of an exageration maybe. (well I am not DF-ed also). I just gave my opinion that I liked it's post. To say, that his advice can be good, but not always. Sometimes elders are really not willing to DF people, sometimes they are. Depends if they like you or not. -

The worst thing the Witness people have done to me personally is to tell my sons to shun me. The worst thing I have seen the Witness people do is tell my first wife to die from leukemia without chemo and blood support treatment. The worst thing for me was watching her die.
I'm so sorry Gary.

for me, (no good anking these qurstions without answering them myself)
it is the doctrine of shunning and the policy about blood.
the first ruins the live of many families and friends. (although there is some room for family members still seeing each other, but some dubs are more strict then nessesary)
the second, causes death of innocent children and grown ups.
That they try to sell fucking magazines, try to make money, say that they are gods channel etc. is something that most religions do. The 2 doctrines mentioned above not. About their latest stand against pheadofilia it is more reasonable. Danny

"And brother billy-boy: take your self-righteous, arrogant, brainwashed ass back to your king-dumb hall and stop participating in apostate discussion boards."
I really feel that it is not nessesary to call somebody arrogant, self rightious, ass etc, because he has a different opinion. And I think he is very welcome, it is good that he has the courage to post things and read things here. This should be welcomed and appriciated. And msjones said that his post were not nice and untrue. Well I think his post were nice, and ok. (there are a lot worse posts about were JW's are bashed, without anyone complaining)Sorry - I didn't know that this was an apostate board - it is advertised as a Jehovah Witness forum where everyone is welcome. My apologies.
I think few are probably df-ed for porneia here, but some are (whatever).
But I do agree that some are ver bitter (some have right to be, IMHO, but still are bitter, and not always objective). So I'll say welcome billyboy -

Why would any one want to be a JW?
by TooBad TooSad ini have often thought about this and now know the answer.
it by use of a simple sales technique.
the only way on earth to influence other people to talk about what they want and show them how to get it.

DannyBloem
well there is more to that then you mentioned.
Some people have a feeling of guild, in that they are doing wrong (in their eyes), and want to come clean with God, and need 'help' in a strong controleld religion.
Other are just unhappy, lonely, and want to be part of something.
there can bbe many reasons

When he said let us make Man in Our image?
by mydiscounts inwho was he really talking to, i know jws believe it was jesus but it has puzzled me my whole life because i believed jesus had to have had a mother.
if he is saying let us make mankind in our image he then created two different beings a man and a woman, where does the image of the woman come from, how, why and from whose image are woman from, her body shape, voice sounding softer, and so on?.
sure i understand the whole rib thing but it goes to reason that there had to be some other being besides jesus he was speaking to, other wise mans companion would have naturally been another man, because the image of jesus is a man and the image of god is also manly.

he was talking to 'the assenbly of the gods'.
