  How's your recovery from the WTS coming along?

  i came on this forum a few years ago, already hyped up from online xjw chat groups and the h2o forum and raring to kick some jdubya butt.

  then i began to calm down and i began to reach out to the newbies coming to this forum, helping (hopefully) where i could.

  after a while the subject of jdubya-ism began to sour on my brain and i began absenteeism from jwd at times, but i always come back.

  Is Atheism/Evolutionism Dangerous? Questions for Unbelievers

  does the belief that there is no all-loving diety in which to be accountable to make it easier or harder to treat and judge others they way that you want to be treated and judged?.

  since evolution supposes that life and ultimately man who is at the top of the chain got here through a process of the fittest dominating and killing off the weaker, and since most modern evolutionists in democracies no longer think that this is good to practice, how do you deal with the fact that you are a living contradiction of your own belief since you pronounce the same thing both good and bad?

  Like the thread.

  My view:

  atheism is not dangerous, but can for weaker persons maybe be a unacceptable empyness in their desire to have a deeper purpose in life.

  theism can be dangerous for the human race because it can block the will to discover, to increase knowledge and solve problems.
  the 'it was god's will" idea can be dangerous for an individual to be to acceptable, but maybe will increase happyness
  of course there is a lot of bad done in the name of religion. Difference in religion causes difference in people, which does gennerally more bad then good.

  i was thinking about the jw tradition of disfellowshipping those who seek a 'worldly divorce' .

  As far as I know people are not disfellowshipped for only a worldly divorce.

  I know of many examples that people stayed in the cong as accepted by marked member. They will get a hard time but no df

  How do you make friends once leaving the Borg?

  so i'm starting the fading out now, and i'm avoiding all kh 'friends,' but am finding it a bit lonely, as was raised in org, and was always taught to shun worldly people even at school.

  does anyone have any advice or experiences about how to overcome this?

  how they met and made new friends in the beginning?

  I have exactly the same problem.

  your whole life you try to avoid any close contact, so bascally I do not have friends other then witnesses, who are not friends anymore now....

  started a thread about the same thing last week. maybe some sugegstions for you came up there...

  there are many differences between a "worldly" person aka "normal" and a jw.

  for example, a jw is horrified by christmas lights.

  JW's are pretty normal, just misinformed

  Maybe more normal then a lot of other persons in strange religions, or people believing in UFO's, witchcraft, predestination, magic healing, or whatever

  stopped going to meetings - feeling bored - what to do?

  since 6 weeks i stopped going to the meetings.

  not that the meetings are not boring.... but i had some friends there, and have a lot more time on my hands.

  also i decided not to use the computer so much anymore because of rsi related problems.

  Well, I guess I do not really feel that bored, but should take some action. The problem is more then all that you have believed in is blown away.... all friends are gone, it is empty.....

  Just some comments at the comments :)

  Here in Grand Rapids, the Kent County Library system has a program to train volunteers to tutor adults in learning to read.

  Adults should know how to read?

  You can also learn to teach people English. I'd be doing this if I didn't have my hands full with raising my grandsons.

  That is cool, but I think I would leave teaching engish to someone who is betetr in engish then me, but the point is understood. I could do many things indeed.

  Pick a place or cause and volunteer. You can meet new friends that way. Find a church you can enjoy. Lots of them have outreach programs you can participate in.

  I am really not waiting for another church or sect, but voluntairing for some not religious cause, is a good idea indeed.

  Watch movies you always wanted to see. Discover local musical talent. Read literature on subjects that were closed to JWs: religion, politics, sexuality, psychology, philosophy, evolution.

  Well that is what I did when I was a JW :). I think I know what I wanted to know about each of those subjects Outlaw

  Do your remember some of the cool people you met,but could`nt hang out with.They were worldly,bad association..Bad associatoin spoils usless habits..LOL!!..Socialise,get to know some people..It will open a whole new world to you..There`s no armageddon to get into this new world...OUTLAW
