1975 here we come again.

Don't they ever learn, no one knows the hour or day. My god what if the world was not destroyed by fire or water this time. What if the world learned how to have peace and learn to get along. What if learning that God is a part of everyone and that we are all trying to attain spiritual awareness. What if the destruction doesn't come but a higher consciousness this time? Then what? All this raging fear and hopelessness will be for nothing but once again.

Raising another crop of terrified of life individuals. Someone has to keep the toilets clean. I did enough toilet cleanings in my day to last the rest of my life.

HI Gary,

Sorry got the name wrong. Yes Eisenhower Ike...my son and i were talking about the presidents and I thought it was really interesting. I am interested in the oldest editions if possible. Actually the very first editions of the Golden Era.

Since I no longer visit kingdom halls in my free time I don't have access to anything good, new, interesting. The net is ok but you can't always find what you want.

Because of Russells beliefs in pyramidology I have been trying to figure out the very basic start of this religion. What was the whole concept before it got screwed away with religious piousy and egotism.

Was it true they used Ike's Mother to propagate further non believers?

Hi Gary,

Do you have privy to the older issues of the magazines? Golden whatever? Is it called Golden Dawn, Golden Era, Golden Fleece, Golden Joke? Just teasing of course.

Isn't it true that Russell used pyramidology and that Rutherford changed all the views up to that time? Also Theodore Roosevelt was brought up a JWS but at that time they called it the River something Congregation? His Father was upset at the changing of the guards and stopped believing in the organization but the mother continued on till her death. There is mention of her being the Mother of the president in the older issues and I believe they were produced by Rutherford, especially at her death. I can't seem to get a hold or no where no the net to look all this up. Young Roosevelt had turned away as soon as he could. I would just like to know if the information I recieved is true. I don't usually believe in anything unless I can see it in writing.

I personally think that Russell was on the right track. Leading the world to a higher consciousness.

could anyone tell me what the policy is when a dfed person wants reinstatement?

are they questioned about their behavior while dfed or does that have any relevance since they were outside wts policy during that time?.

Hi Northern Girl,

When I talked to my dad about what I had done, he was an elder at the time, he told me not to go to the elders until I was very repentant and that I should confess all I had done while not attending. OH yeah I could see that happening. As I was never repentant it was a moot subject.

My father had seen alot and did not want me to go before any committee period. He thought they were intrusive. I am not dsf and not sure how this would affect a reinstatement.

Maybe the elders could finally take action against me by my own words. I should care? My dad is now dead so they can do whatever they want. I leave it in their hands. A truly faithful sister, NOT. Let them wank off in their own darkness

A weekend of bitter and unhappy apostasy......

this is district convention weekend in my area.

now, i know that in the good old days, i would get up early, drive to hamilton (an unpleasant place), sit all day on an uncomfortable plastic chair with no legroom and listen to the usual boring tripe regurgitated from last year, with only a short break to eat dull sandwiches.

then i'd drive all the way home, tired and cranky and hungry, eat something and go to bed, knowing that i would get to repeat the whole sordid process the next day!

Come on where are the dancing girls?

After the smoking ban in the hall my parents would rent a hotel about 60 miles away so no one would see them smoke. Those were the best days as we got to swim all day in the pool and we didn't have to suffer until the Sunday session. They would get the books at that time so they were updated on the goings on.

My parents loved the Canadian assemblies as no one knew them their. Of course until they stopped smoking then all hell broke loose. There is a racetrack up there, hot as the hinges of hell. At least in air conditioning you can sleep easier.

Now i stay home and I can't tell you when the assemblies are. I thought they gave them up for lent by now.

I have not been to this site in awhile and have missed alot of the great discussions. Actually have been working on Astrology and oh no Tarot.

Remeber a couple things in life.

First: Experience is not good or bad, it just is! Enjoy

Second: Make sure you have a good supply of condoms!

Third: God listens to all of us no matter what our beliefs are. Never become bitter.

The one thought going through my mind at the time I opened the door to the committee meeting where my three yr old was sitting was "How much love are they showing my son? Sitting him next to the perpetrator.

The next thought: "If they can vote me to be disfellowshipped for showing compassion and love for my son then this isn't the religion Jehovah chose." My whole world flashed in front of my eyes, my whole life and it was all going to be taken away within an instant of just opening a door.

Stupidity reigns, compassion denied, love you will not find, until you reach the other side.

I am who I am today because of my past. My parents didn't know any better and when I turned 18 I didn't have the knowledge to seperate myself. I don't blame anyone. I chalk it up to experience and move on. You win some you lose some. You always keep going.

Where were you when you first came here?

i noticed in a couple of threads people discussing the impact this board would have on jw's with doubts coming here and reading the messages.

it got me to wondering where most people that post here were at...what stage in their jw/ex jw process...when they started reading and/or posting here.

also curious, when you did come here what was your main focus?

I was out of work for over a year at the time I came here. I had nothing else to do. I also belong to a couple of online groups for moms with molested children and they suggested this place.

I have been out of the organization for 12yrs and still I am learning new ways to come to terms with their unethical disposition to reality.

French Bethel reopens

it appears that all of the french language printing work is returning to france.

it has been carried out at the uk branch for the last few years.

60 french bethelites were told to go back to france to report for duty.. the uk branch now has to get rid of about 100 british bethelites in the next few months.

Wait, maybe they are going to reopen a brothel. Maybe that is how they are going to get around the rules.
