Is Society Really That Degraded?

i just read this on another thread:it seems to me , that nowadays "anything goes" and thats a shame.

do any of you really believe that our societies morals are any less decrepid than any other time in history?

if so, can someone tell me of any time in history that was more "morally" righteous, pure or wholesome?.

What a profound statement. I found out through needing birth certificates that my mom was pregnant at 16 with my sister. She was not married until three days before her birth. All these years I was told that they had been married a year longer than they actually were.

My sister and I were married before we had sex. What a shock that must have been to my mom. A new concept.

Don't do as I do, do as I say!

did any jw's ever sieze anything you owned due to demonic possesion?

did they ever burn anything to free it of demons?

How do you think the society keeps everyone on their best behavior by keeping them afraid of something that is not seen. It seems that there is more faith in demons than there is in God.

When you fear something as the demons you give them your power. Your mind starts to see thigns that are not really there. Yes the demons play, why not. Fear inspires and encourages them.

My god my sister wakes up at night because the shower curtain moves and the water comes on in the bathroom, she fears the demons so much that she is allowing them to have her power. My mother threw away all the pictures of me and my children. All the pictures of them growing up because she was having nightmares, actually seeing my father standing at the end of her bed after he died. She blamed it on me as I study astrology and tarot. She still has the visions of dad. My dad spirit just wants her to know he is still around. As his ashes are still under her bed 5yrs later.

Except the fact they are around, tell them to go away that they are not wanted in your home. Fear just increases their viability.

I had one here for a couple of months, you know that smell when you walk in a room and past it, smells like rotting garbage. Well one night I just got ticked off and told him to leave because he no longer scared me. It was right after a trip I made to my home town, brought up alot of negative energy, thoughts. I remember some horrible things from that trip and my childhood. We have the power and form to tell them to leave. If we don't run scared.

Would you be willing to admit it if you've been a hypocrite?

for the last 20 years of my association with the jws, i was, more or less, a hypocrite.

they taught things i didn't believe, but i went to the meetings and, by my presence there and by my "non-answers" i in essence supported something that i didn't believe.. it's a hard thing to say "i was a hypocrite.".

Born and bred a wanker jws. I was never a hypocrite as I believed in the only thing I knew in my own reality. Right or wrong it was all I knew.

I tried to be a hypocrite by going back to the hall a couple years after the fact and I would get sick and have to leave. Finally leaving for the last time because the Sunday talk was about spanking your children which is against the law. That was a turning point of no return.

My biggest fault is seeing reality in black and white and not being able to see color. We all try to fit into our own reality. It is when we try to fit in another's reality that we become disoriented, not necessarily a hypocrite.

Ran into two JW's in service today, I was on !!!, it was classic !!!

well, for some reason i was up extra early today, understand i am night person and usually sleep to 11 or so today i was up at 9 and decided to take the dogs out before it got to hot outside.

i hadn't been gone 3 minutes and as i came out of my street onto another i bumped into 2 jw's (females) getting out of their suv.

they asked do you have a couple of minutes.

This experience was totally awesome!!!!!!!!

Oh to be a fly and watch their faces as they retell their story to countless other sheep in the hall. Oh the pity party starts. That Escalade, wow, donations must be really good, rethinking my vocation in life....NOT!!!!

To think I was lucky if i got enough money for a coffee on break time at Mcdonalds...how things have changed.

I will check into the other two books. I have read Franz's books. I was in shock after reading his book. I loaned it out and no longer have a copy.

last meeting i ever went to was a memorial, 6 years ago.

i remember it well, and it wasn't even my own hall.

April 1995 the sunday talk. I got upset because they counseled parents to spank their children. This is against the law in Massachusetts. I waited till the song and my son and I walked out. I looked at him and said never again. I tried and tried.

ON the way out the door came a Mother and her daughter my sons age. She couldn't gallop fast enough. She wanted her daughter to meet my son. Oh yeah that went over big. My son was only 16 and had a girlfriend he was dorking, it wasnt time for him to marry anyone let alone a JWS indoctrinated with my mindset.

The last time I walked into a Kingdom Hall was for my Dad's funeral. Nov 1998 drunk off my ass. Sat there and dared anyone to even say hello. THey didn't even know my ex and I were divorced. They kept calling to see if i was ok. The brave ones always come up. I loved a couple of them and they loved me. They also later died and I regret my attitude. They truly did care about me.

Now this is so sad. So very sad! No drugs, rocknroll, sex, smoking, no pedophile acts, but just questioning a doctrine.

How dare you question their channel to Jehovah! I am laughing so hard here. They do channeling to get the new light and then condemn those that channel. I think that sometimes their remote controls are not on the same channel as Jehovah's. Maybe the had to much wine that night, maybe they were thinking about sex when they channeled all those messages that become written in Gold then later changed as "New Light". My heart goes out to you.

I guess they are the only ones intelligent enough to know how to channel. I am now wondering since they so aptly condemn channeling if they don't get all their messages from Satan. The trickster of all time.

Your story is funny. When you think about it seems so sad to think of a system like that. What you actually would have to give up to be there and what you actually get in return.

I do hope when the end comes that at least one of the remaining ones has some pot seeds in his pocket. We think hell is right now on earth when actually it would be on the other side.

The realism is laughable. The truth really does hurt!

Well as it has been a long time since I have been here I missed all the hoopla. Well I am glad to have had a chance to read this as it is enlightening.

Never thought of the day after. Making it to that day was the important part. The "Prize"

Already missing the toilet paper. The poison ivy leaves don't work as well.

1975 here we come again.

Don't they ever learn, no one knows the hour or day. My god what if the world was not destroyed by fire or water this time. What if the world learned how to have peace and learn to get along. What if learning that God is a part of everyone and that we are all trying to attain spiritual awareness. What if the destruction doesn't come but a higher consciousness this time? Then what? All this raging fear and hopelessness will be for nothing but once again.

Raising another crop of terrified of life individuals. Someone has to keep the toilets clean. I did enough toilet cleanings in my day to last the rest of my life.
