i saw great mountains, camped at elevation, redwoods, tasted pomegranates and olives from the trees they grew on, dodged black widows, explored and conquered the streets of a little town named patterson.
Thanks for posting your very interesting stories. I was surprised that you knew the same James Olson that was mentioned in New Boy's stories. I read in his story that Bethelites gave the society the right to keep their body after death. Was that the case in this situation? Also, how did James Olson's family feel about sending his brother to Bethel the next year?

i read crisis of conscience some time ago and it had a profound effect on me.
i just gave it to my ex-bethelite friend to read (he had already discovered the "truth" about the truth on his own).
he's about halfway through it and is in the anger stage.

I'm a lurker passing through to say hi. Yesterday, I posted a couple brief replies to Prisca's "Lurking" post at H20 regarding the C of C book and other thoughts about the witnesses. My husband and I found Franz's story to be very enlightening, but it was only a help to us when we started to do research after reading the book. I know people who have read the book, but continue to kick themselves in the backend everyday because they still believe the witnesses have the "truth."
